Lykaon is out of town on business and his laptop went kaput after a nasty fall from the overhead-storage bin (items really do shift in flight, who knew?), and so he has asked me to let you all know that he’ll be AWOL for the next several days.
You may have noticed some differences in the site – the name, the new sidebar images. I’ve decided to move things in a new direction. I know we all love Yvonne – what’s not to love? – but perhaps the love has gotten a little too extreme.
Perhaps I’m tired of making dinner while Lykaon waxes eloquent about the beauty of another woman in a public forum. Perhaps I’m tired of going to bed alone while Lykaon peruses high-res photos of perfection herself to plan new wallpapers. And perhaps I am ready for some ogling of my own.
Introducing the new Hero of Canton website! I was first introduced to Adam Baldwin with his work on Firefly, for those that don’t get the reference. Jayne was a lovable thug, and I’m even more delighted with Adam’s portrayal of Casey. I definitely appreciate that he’s gone up a few IQ points.
We can still chat Chuck – that’s mostly what we did on Strahotski anyway – and I hope you’ll stick around to enjoy the new site!
We often get emails from people asking what song they just heard in the most recent Chuck episode, and it comes up in the forums a lot as well. That’s why we’ve decided to add a Music from Chuck section to the site.
It has song listings for every episode that’s aired so far, and we’ll keep adding to it each week. Chuck has a LOT of music, so of course we may not have every song.
If you know of something we’ve missed, please let us know about it!
What makes the music in Chuck so great? Yvonne, Zach, Adam, and the rest of the cast are great actors, and their performances do more than enough to sell whatever is going on on-screen. But the show’s great music often adds that extra emotional punch or hilariousness that puts the scene over the top.
After all, it’s impossible to forget Jeff and Lester singing “Africa” in Chuck vs. The Best Friend, and of course “Do You Believe in Love” made the perfect backdrop to the infamous slow-motion scene in Chuck vs. The Seduction. There was that whole episode dedicated to Rush, too.
So whatever you’re favorite Chuck song is, enjoy! We put in little Amazon preview widgets with the songs whenever they were available, so you can listen to samples for most of the music.
Though our old gallery was adequate, it lacked some handy features that any community should have, making it harder than it should have been to share our love of Yvonne Strahovski.
Many of our readers have asked for the ability to rate photos, or to leave comments on specific ones. This new solution should provide all of that and better navigation to boot!
Thank you for your patience as we’ve suffered through the storage cluster meltdown of our previous host. Unfortunately, the stability of that hosting solution was not adequate for our needs.
If you’re reading this, you’ve made it to the new bigger, better, faster, stronger Strahotski.com.
We’ve taken over our own virtual private server where we have ultimate control and far better performance.
Hopefully it will be business as usual from here on out. Thanks for sticking with us!
If you notice any problems, be sure to let us know!
Tungsten, one of the users from our forums, has put together a snazzy interactive fan map. Each pin on the map represents a fan that has asked to be added to the map. You too can get added, and see additional stats by visiting the map’s forum thread.
Edit: If you leave your city or region as well as country in the thread, Tungsten can place the pin without putting it in the center of the country.
Lykaon and I like the map so much, we’ve decided to give it a permanent home on the main site. So, to see updates to the map as more people are added, you can visit it on it’s new page.
