New Forums!

As some of you may know, our forums have been down for a couple of weeks now while we rolled in some pretty sweeping changes.  We replaced the forum software entirely with Vanilla 2, a brand new forum package.

The plus side is that Vanilla 2 gives us a unique look among forums, as well as some useful features.  The downside is that Vanilla 2 is new and thus has some … we’ll say quirks.  Be sure to check out the thread on the new forum features so that you know what to expect.

If you already have an account, remember that you have to sign in with your email address now.  You’ll also have to upload a new picture.

There’s a quirk with the uploading of a picture.  You have to right-click “Change my picture” and open it in a new tab to get it to work.  Otherwise, your picture upload will not actually take.  This will hopefully be fixed soon.  That bit of advice goes for anything that uses a pop-up to take information from you.

If you’re new to the forums, then go over and register.  We use captchas now to register, so you don’t even have to wait for an email.

Bear with us during the transition, and stop by to tell us what you think.  The New Strahotski.com Forums should be a comfy home for Season 4!

Another Season of Yvonne

I realize that it’s old news at this point, but for those who haven’t heard — Chuck has been renewed for a fourth season!

I apologize for the late post, but I’ve been visiting in-laws in rural Arizona. And when I say rural, I mean literally the middle of nowhere.  With sand and mountains in every direction.  Needless to say, Sprint’s 3G network does not extend that far.

But I’m back, and I’ve caught up by watching Versus the Tooth.  A cute episode, but I’m a little bit worried that Sarah (and in turn Yvonne Strahovski) is becoming more of an accessory than a character.

The arc with their relationship is pretty cliche so far with the “I Love You” debacle that always occurs on such shows.  And how could they not get Christopher Lloyd to say “Great Scott!” or “1.21 Jigawatts?!”

I do really like the new arc with Ellie, though.  Adam Baldwin plays well off of her, so I look forward to much hilarity in the future.

The screen captures will be up tomorrow afternoon after I’ve decompressed from the trip.  The above is about as much reviewing as I’ll do for Versus the Tooth.  Back on schedule this week, though!

Also on a site-related note, we’ve been having some issues with the server over the past week.  New forum members might have had trouble registering.  All should be fixed now, and the backlog of applicants should all be approved.

Thanks for the patience!

Attack of the Show

As many of you have already surmised, today is April 1, 2010 — better known as April Fool’s Day.  Though we do love the very beautiful and talented Sarah Lancaster, we have no intention of muddying the waters and diluting the Strahotski.com brand.

We love Yvonne Strahovski too much, and there is far too much work left to do in the realm of getting her name out there and into the limelight as one of Hollywood’s best kept secrets.

Hopefully Ms. Lancaster understands.  Happy April Fool’s Day everyone!

And on to other news, word on the street is that Yvonne Strahovski will be on Attack of the Show this very night at 7pm EST on G4.  I’ll try to get screen captures up as soon as possible.

I suggest you tune in to the entire episode.  Attack of the Show is hilarious, and Olivia Munn is pretty much every geek’s perfect girl.  Well, Yvonne is our perfect girl.  But you know what I mean.

Branching Out

There comes a time to evolve.  From humble roots, we have built the best homage we could to Yvonne Strahovski — always trying our best to do so with dignity and respect.

But as much as we love Yvonne Strahovski, there are other fish in the sea.  There are other actresses who deserve the same level of respect and attention.

It is for this reason that Rob and I are proud to announce that we’re branching out.  The Strahotski.com brand is embracing other great actresses.  But we’ll always have the name to remind us where it all started.

To begin with, we’re going to start covering Sarah Lancaster, another actress from Chuck.  With her amazing eyes and adorable smile, she seemed like the natural first actress for our expansion.

This is just the beginning of what’s sure to be many great new paths for the Strahotski.com family.  Though Rob and I haven’t settled on our next celebrity, I’m pulling for Carrie Underwood.

For now, enjoy the new (and unfortunately small) Sarah Lancaster gallery.  It will grow over time as I incorporate screen captures from my weekly batch.

So what do you guys think?  Are you ready for the Strahotski.com brand to expand to other great actresses or are we making a fatal mistake?

Yvonne & Strahotski.com on Carson Daly

This isn’t the first time Yvonne Strahovski has been on Carson Daly, but it is by far the best.

Not only was the interview very fluid and comfortable, but the best part of all was when Carson nonchalantly asked Ms. Strahovski whether she had ever googled herself.  Not only has she done so, but she saw fit to give a shoutout to Strahotski.com.

Carson quickly moved the interview along, but not before Yvonne mentioned that she found the site flattering.  That’s good to hear because I would hate her to think that we’re a bunch of weirdos!

Daly went on to mention how he always goes straight to the pictures and enjoys looking at the screen captures from Chuck.

Though he didn’t say exactly where he goes for those pics, we’re going to just assume it’s right here since we have the largest collection of Yvonne-specific screen captures on the Internet.

Overall, I couldn’t be more excited and grateful for the mention on Last Call.  It’s a big acknowledgment of all of the fans out there who frequent the site to celebrate Ms. Strahovski’s work.

The interview is happily transferring to my computer right now and I’ll get screen caps up in the gallery this afternoon.  Keep your eyes peeled for the interview to pop up on the Last Call site so we can relive the shoutout over and over!
