Yvonne Strahovski Round-Up

300.strahovski.yvonne.lc.011310Well it’s been a crazy week in the Yvonne Strahovski fan-world so I thought it might be useful to make a post rounding up all that’s been going on in the world.

With so many screen caps and reviews scrolling by, the front page just can’t hold it all!

We still have a few days before the next episode so there’s still time to go back and comment on the reviews and caps for each episode.

Yvonne wins E! Online’s Girl On Top Poll

With a lot of effort and determination, Yvonne Strahovski fans managed to pull out a narrow victory over Smallville’s Allison Mack.  The forums were alight with fervor over getting the win and the dedication paid off.

This particular win is perhaps a tad bit more poignant than some online polls because Yvonne Strahovski and Adam Baldwin both campaigned for Yvonne.

Little Bailey’s Strahovski Showdown

Here at Strahotski.com, we’re fans of Bailey who managed to catch Yvonne Strahovski’s eye with her awesome Sarah Walker costume which led to some autographed gear for Bailey.

That wasn’t the end of the story, though!  Turns out Bailey got a chance to attend ChuckFest where she met Yvonne Strahovski.  Bailey shared a nice video of the meet-up on her Twitter account.

NBC Press Tour Party

To promote Chuck, Yvonne attended the NBC Press Tour Party.  A lot of great pictures have poured in over the days of Yvonne in her beautiful white dress.

You can check a lot of those out in our forums, mostly thanks to bzzg and her mad photo finding skills.

Chuck Season 3

If you’re at all visiting this site, then surely you already know that Chuck Season 3 premiered this week with astounding numbers.

To help recap the fun that was the season 3 premiere, here are some quick links to all of Strahotski.com’s coverage:

Whew.  I don’t know if that’s all of the Yvonne news for the week, but I think it should cover the highlights.  At the very least it should keep you busy until next week’s episode , Chuck Versus Operation Awesome.

What do you guys think?  Good week?

Strahovski Drought Almost Over

The news is trickling in that Chuck has a new start date for the fall — a full 3 months earlier than predicted!

The Chicago Tribune is reporting that Chuck will be back for its 3rd season starting on Sunday, January 10th for a 2 hour premiere of back to back episodes.

The third episode will then play the very next night at Chuck’s old slot on Mondays at 8pm.   Heroes will shift back to its old 9pm time-slot.

Check out the Season 3 Teaser below:

Welcome news indeed!  Not too much longer without our weekly Yvonne fix.  I, for one, can’t wait!

UPDATE: Reader Mike pointed out that if you zoom in on the Mass Effect 2 cover on Amazon’s site, you can clearly see that it is in fact Yvonne on the cover:

Yvonne and Screamfest

While Yvonne Strahovski herself isn’t scheduled to appear at Screamfest, her new movie, The Canyon, will be showing tomorrow night, October 20 at 9:30pm at the Grauman’s Chinese Theater in LA.

Ticket prices are a reasonable $11.50 when ordered online. If any of you Strahotski-ites are in the area and get to check out Yvonne, we’d love to here any reports of Yvonne’s performance!

The Canyon is nearing release on DVD on November 17, and has been in the making for a long time.  For previous Strahotski news on the subject, check out the following links:

* Impressions of Yvonne from Karina, wife of Screenwriter Steve Allrich

* Watch the trailer of The Canyon

The Canyon is a tale of a pair of newlyweds who get lost without their guide in the Grand Canyon wilderness.  It’s been compared to movies such as Open Water as a story of survival.

ShockTillYouDrop recently posted an short interview with Yvonne about the movie, specifically focusing on her fun with the wolves in the film.

You can discuss Yvonne’s role in the movie on our forums in the thread dedicated to her role.  If you get a chance to see the movie, let us know!

EDIT: According to a Facebook post on the Horror Festival Page, Yvonne Strahovski will be attending the showing of the Canyon at Screamfest on Tuesday night. All the more reason to get your tickets and watch!

Autographs from Yvonne

yvonne-autograph-siteMany months ago, I decided I would attempt to get Yvonne’s autograph.  At the heart of it, this site exists in the first place because I am a huge fan of her and her work.  She continually impresses in both her career and public interactions.

I was lucky enough to have contact information for her agent, so I lovingly crafted a cover letter and addressed an envelope.  I went to the post office and I bought two stamps — one for the trip to Cali and one for the trip back.  With photos, letter and S.A.S.E. stuffed safely away, I dropped it in the box.

Then on the way home, I realized that I had made a fatal mistake.  I had written the wrong zip code on the outer envelope.  Worse, I typed the wrong zip code in when I bought the stamp.  My chances of getting an autograph were doomed.

But today — after many months lost in the postal system I’m sure — I found a brown envelope on my doorstep when returning from running some errands.  At first I was confused.  Had my mom sent me photos?  It looked sort of like her handwriting, but not quite.

Then it hit me — that was my handwriting.  And my envelope; with a neat crease down the center from having been folded up and put into another envelope.  Written and stamped on the outside were the warnings, “PHOTOS – DO NOT BEND.”

Abandoning the rest of the items in the car, I tore open the envelope with excitement (apologies to my wife for having to bring in the rest of the groceries by herself).  Inside I found both of my photos; not only autographed but personalized as well.

Here at Strahotski.com, we follow Ms. Strahovski’s career and we talk endlessly at how great we all think she is.  Though I needed no more confirmation to cement my opinion of Yvonne, this kind gesture from her means the world to me and I’m extremely grateful that she could take the time to do this.

So a special thanks to Ms. Strahovski!  And thank you to all of the readers out there who put this site on the map.  You’re all awesome.
