A sad day indeed, a tab I kept constantly open on my web browser will be sorely missed. I think I speak for the intense fans as well as the casual passerby of Strahotski when I say that I appreciate very deeply the care you put into building the gallery, blog, and community. Not everyone would have put forth the effort that you have, and I would like to say thank you. Even though I think within a few short years Yvonne’s lovely face will be plastered across many billboards and many websites, I will sorely miss the collection of rarities found here along with the rumors, thoughts, and news posted here. I’m sorry it had to come to such a short end. As a final request, is there any way you could make a full gallery file available for download for fans so we have something to remember this by? I know it would be a lot of work and a big file, so if the answer is no I fully understand. Farewell Lykaon, Strahotski.com and all the members of this great community. You will be missed.

wow, talk about extremely saddening news. I have spent every day here since I joined in January of last year and have made many, many friends on this site. It is truly a fantastic community.

Thank you for all you have done for this site and this community, Lykaon. I’m really sad to see it go.

I’m very sorry to see this site go. Though I haven’t followed as avidly in the last year or so, when Chuck was young and I was away from home, I was constantly here checking up on what was new in Ms. Strahovski’s life, discussing her work with fellow fans, and, yes, ogling the most recent screen caps. I especially liked the class and high standards this site has always embodied. Yes, Yvonne is an incredibly attractive woman, but she was treated with the respect she was due.

Lykaon, you have done yourself and the legions of Yvonne Strahovski fans proud with your efforts. Thank you so much for your time, effort, skill, and maybe a little of your sanity. I know I speak for many when I say it did not go unnoticed or unappreciated.

Lykaon, I wish you could have held out until the end of season 5 but I’m sure you would if you could. All good things come to an end. I’ve been here from the start and it’s been a great ride. I would love to get my hands on some of your screen caps. Your work has always shown Yvonne at her best, tastfully and respectfully. I think she’s proud of what you accomplished and somehow we’ll look for ways to continue to follow her promissing career, although it won’t come close to Strahotski.com. You’ll be missed.

I would be honored if you would put up what you believe to be your top 10 Yvonne screen caps for old time sake. Maybe those that received the largest amount of feedback. Thanks for everything!

@Lyakon… as you have said many fans from Strahotski.com have kept the seasons of Chuck alive and put their strength in numbers for voting to keep Yvonne on the small screen with great success.

Do you think we need to wage a campaign with Subway and/or NBC/Chuck to keep Strahotski.com alive and well? Maybe if we asked Yvonne to start tweeting about it herself! You’d be assured of legit partners to come along. Maybe even propose this to become the official Yvonne website via her Dad’s friend???

I appreciate the desire to save the site, but believe me when I say that I have already attempted to do so. We offered the site to other chuck fan sites and Yvonne herself. Please don’t start hounding these other organizations to try to save the site. I’ve already done that and they’ve already made their decision.

Nothing lasts forever and it was a tough personal decision to shut down the site. At the end of the day, I just really couldn’t see anyone else doing what I do, with the care that I do. And because of that, I’d rather shut it down on a high note, having always held to the same values.

Thank you, Lykaon, for all the effort you put into this website. Words cannot express the meaning that the series Chuck, the actress Yvonne Strahovski and this website have in my life. I´m ashamed that I only started to be an hardcore Chuck/Yvonne Strahovski fan a year ago, few months after the season 3 finale was aired.

I still remember like if it was yesterday, I was bored and I needed something to do “maybe watch a filme or a couple of episodes of some random series”. How silly was I?… Then I thought of that show named Chuck, from which I had already seen a few episodes which aired in our TV channels, here in Portugal (international ftw ). I searched for it on the web, and in less than a week I had seen every single episode twice, and I was sorely begging for more.
How could something be so awesome, and how could a woman be that gorgeous and amazing?

From that point my journey started. I wanted to know more about everything, about Chuck, about Casey, about Sarah! My research lead me, among many other sites, to Strahotski.com.

Your reviews were amazing, the people who visit this website and comment about it were as passioned about Chuck as I am, we didn´t miss a single shot of our favorite actress` life and career, and that my friend, we can thank you for!

I worthly want to say that what you´ve done here was not a fan base website, about some actress. It is/was waaay more than that. You created a landmark for every other fan site. Your work and dedication is outstanding, the fans are outstanding!

Now that Chuck was confirmed for a Season 5, and I, as many others, thought this could only get better, you reveil this sad news. But you´re not the one to be blamed for, you´re the one to be thanked for. To be thanked for making watching Chuck a joyfull experience, for knowing that after every mind blowing episode a wise review will be written for us to comment.

But again, life continuous, you certainly have your reasons, and please know that, from now on, we will feel a bit empty everytime we watch Chuck, because Strahotski.com will not be around.

I wholeheartedly second Nanny’s sentiments. I’ve visited this place more than I care to admit these last four years as I valued your reviews.

But, I also understand your position, Lykaon, and wish you the best of luck with all of your endeavors.

I do have one question, though. If we distribute any screencaps one the Web after this site has shut down, would you prefer we e-mail you prior to posting, or just go ahead and use them?

A someone who had to close a well-liked site (on an unrelated subject), I completely understand Josh’s situation. Between the time and money it takes to stay relevant, you just run out of energy.

And, Josh’s desire to not let the site become something else in the hands of another is admirable.

Personally, I feel that strahotski.com it an integral part of YS’s image. It really reflects her personal values, and as such was a breath of wind at her back since she came to The States.

Personally, I would love for us to pitch in and raise the money it would take to keep it going through S5 and beyond, but I also know that Josh’s decision was probably more than money-oriented.

Will the site be deleted? Please tell me we will still be able to read old posts after you stop writing.

Regardless of the demise of this wonderful site, our common, intense desire to bone the wonderful Ms. Strahovski will live on and continue to unite fans from all over the world…

I’m almost in tears This sight is absolutely amazing and has been one of my home pages for years now. I never really had the chance to get on the message boards here, but I did read all the main posts. The screencaps are the best I have ever seen and the most beautiful. Yvonne is an amazing actor and person, and I learned more about her here than anywhere else. I sincerely wish everyone here the best, and thank you Josh for all the effort you have put into this site.

I still can not believe that the site will close, and I’m like losing a piece of it …

We also understand that, to deal with such a site is difficult, tiring and time required to separate a task.

This is just so sad. I have really got to love strahotski.com over the last year or so. I visit the site every day in search of news regarding the beautiful end extremely talented Yvonne Strahovski. I really feel I’m left without words here… this is just so very very sad. I’m hoping that strahotski.com fans will still be able to visit this fantastic site, even though you stop writing, Lyakon. I beg and hope the site does not simply disappear, because I love the sites design, and the pictures of Yvonne of course (I hope the photos of Yvonne you got here doesn’t go anywhere). Would be nice to get a response regarding the future of strahotski.com (will it disappear?).
Regardless of what happens to the site in the future, I would like to thank Scott, Devon and Josh for the fantastic site.

Oh wow… I just found out about the site closing and I have to say, a little bit of me died inside. Even though I wasn’t able to be as active as I wanted to be in the forums, I still loved being able to read your reviews Josh and also reading the everyone else’s thoughts. I wish you all the luck in the world in verifying and anything you decide to do. To all the fellow Chuck fans I’ve met through this site, it really was a pleasure. wow. I am a little shocked at your closing down. This has always been my favorite site to get any info on Yvonne and ‘chuck’. There are a lot of great fans here and I want to thank them and Lykaon for their input and work on this fabulous website because it helped me to understand more about Yvonne/chuck and appreciate them all the more. I didn’t even know about the fanfics till I found this site let alone finding out about the music in the series and not to mention looking at all those fabulous pictures from the series. {This site also has the BEST name as well.} Thanks and best wishes to everybody, you will be missed.

Chuck ME! – I am very sorry to read that Strahotski will be no more. Lykaon – I read each of your reviews weekly and found the site a great tribute to Ms. Strahovski. The pictures and reviews/commentary were great. I thought that Season 5 was hard enough to face knowing it would be the last and now knowing that you will not be reviewing it and providing those great screen shots is even more of a blow. But as they say all GOOD THINGS must come to an end. I thank you for all of your past efforts and allowing us Yvonne Strahovski fans an outlet to voice our opinions. I wish you all the best!

@kyle: Because sites don’t maintain themselves. It takes time, money and effort that I can no longer afford.

Anybody like to volunteer to take over this website ? If I had the expertise I’d do it ! This is all very sad – I was hoping to add some pictures from Chuck and Sarah’s wedding to add to my wallpaper collection (a fitting end)but I suppose this is impossible now ? Goodbye Lykaon and best wishes.

@gromit, @originaljj: I have tried to find someone to take it over to no avail. I wouldn’t trust the site to just anyone and I’ve been unable to find anyone that met my standards. I would rather close the site down than jeopardize the integrity.

Though I have not spoken with Yvonne (obviously), I have spoken with some of her management and they are aware.

@Lykaon, Thanks for this site for as long as we had it. I can understand your not wanting to turn the site over to just anyone. The integrity at the top sets the tone for the integrity of the site.

You made me aware of Yvonne as more than just a beautiful, talented actress when I came across your Ken-Mar topic. I have learned that Yvonne also has a lot of integrity and thus it is not surprising you and her fans are as you are.

Very sad news. I’d rather see ads on here than have the site go away. I’m sure the other fans would agree. I know the bandwidth can’t be cheap, but perhaps you could even turn a profit with google ads. Thanks for your work and funding of the site up till now.

It’s not all about cost. The site used to have ads actually that most covered the cost of hosting. I took them off because I preferred the site without them and I didn’t mind footing the bill.

It’s a commitment; something that holds over my head all the time. I can never update the site as often as I want, and I can never stay on top of Yvonne Strahovski news on the level that I aim for. Screen captures are very time consuming, and writing reviews makes watching Chuck sometimes feel like a job.

It’s just not where I want to spend my time anymore. If the ads brought me in 100s per month, then maybe. But that’s not likely.

At the end of the day, it’s just time for me to move on. I had some promising leads on ways to keep the site alive and they disappointingly fell through.

For those who have asked, the gallery will stay up for the time being. Eventually, the domain name will expire and it will move to a different URL.

The blog will also be archived off to my personal site with the commenting locked out. That way people can go back and read reviews and stuff.

The forums will be taken down and not archived. The data is not organized in a useful way and without allowing users to post, there is no value there in my opinion.

I really appreciate all of the well wishes. I’m honored to have been a part of such a special fan community, and you guys have always been awesome to me. It was a very difficult decision to make.

Thank you for the time and energy that you sacrificed to bring us all things that became the land of Strahotski. I had never heard of Yvonne before Chuck, but like everyone else here I will be following her career. It is bittersweet knowing that we will have a 5th season, but not the familiar haunt of Strahotski to visit. I wish you luck in your endeavors,and will fondly remember the time I spent in the land of Strahotski.

is there any way to get all the pics moved to another site?

I hope I am not breaking any laws or regulations, but I uploaded all images (everything from galleries plus wallpapers, over 5000 pictures) from website as one .rar file to rapidshare.com (size approx 1GB) – https://rapidshare.com/files/3520600146/strahotski_gallery.rar

I’m not taking the gallery down but ok.

Lykaon: Oh, I though that the “end of site” meant that you will no longer pay for hosting, and therefore everything will be deleted after short time by hosting provider…

@Aries: I wasn’t clear in the main post; though I have mentioned it on the forums and I think earlier in the comments (not that I expect you to read 70 comments).

I am going to stop paying for the hosting, but I’m moving the main site and gallery over to my personal hosting service. It’ll be slower but they’ll stay up for archival purposes until/unless Strahotski.com stops working.

I don’t own the domain names any longer (long story), so I don’t know when that will be. Comments will be turned off and both the gallery and blog will serve as an archive. I’ll post a new post on the front page explaining the sitch.

Now I see it in comments (must have missed it), I usually read all previous comments (unless there are 100+). Well, nevermind, at least I practiced using wget…
