Strahovski and Families Volkoff

by Lykaon - April 11th, 2011

It’s been too long since the last Chuck and I’m sure we’re all super excited to have it back!  I’m especially excited about the Vivian arc continuing.  There just aren’t enough strong female villains in the world in my opinion.

Sadly, I’m out of town on vacation this week so I won’t be able to watch Chuck until I return.  Obviously, I also can’t really write a review for it since that wouldn’t make much sense.

As such, I just want to throw this post out there so that you can all discuss Episode 4.20 – Chuck Versus the Family Volkoff.

I’ll back-fill the review and get some screen caps out next week.  I apologize for the inconvenience.

I really liked it. Nice twist with Vivian. And I loved the Chuck and Sarah scene on the couch at the end. It was reminiscent of the fountain scenes earlier in the series.

Chuck in top form tonight!!!!!!!!! Great episode. The writers have won me back!

loved the episode!!! that’s all I can say

Apr 11, 2011 @ 10:05 pm Ummmm. Hi. (not a moderator)

I agree with Steven, and justafan, tonight’s episode was great and had a very good laying-of-the-foundation of the final story arc. Was the object at the end (in the blue-box-shelf-thing) the plasma grenade?

I loved the episode, but I don’t see why nbc decides to take almost a month off in between episodes… a week I can understand, but taking that long of a hiatus off really hurts the views.

Wow, great episode. At least now we know that Vivian is a bad guy. So, was that Agent X lying to Chuck, or was it Ellie?

“To be cool, or not to be cool…that is the question of this episode”
- Vivian VOLKOFF becomes so incredibly beautiful as she progressively turns to the dark side herited from her father. Could we expect an happy end, not sure…
- Ellie, progressively, is approaching the truth… Is that really cool for her or not, let’s see what will happen next time.
- Does Alex’s mother should know that Casey is still alive? Not cool maybe, but we would be so glad if Casey could find his young love
- Will we retrieve Chuck for a fifth season? It’s a real pending question and the current situation is NOT cool AT ALL.
- Sarah is more than never a GREAT actress and it’s always cool to watch her talent every Monday night
What about you Chucksters, are you guys so cool at this moment?

@zp3of7
I thought it was Elli Lying to Chuck, I have gotten my dad watching the show and he and I both think that Agent X is Chuck, the only problem is didn’t the computer identify Ellie as Agent X? I can’t remember

Watched the episode, finally. I enjoyed it, save one subject. I’m not pleased with the Ellie situation. First, she’s incredibly intelligent (doctor, figuring out computer, etc), yet she never notices that Chuck is gone a lot on missions? I also don’t like the lying aspect. Chuck needs to tell her….period. Other than that, I enjoy the Vivian as a baddie…that’s fun. Loving the Charah moments as well. Still love the show. Where can we go to write NBC to beg them to save Chuck? C’mon…who is with me????

yeah the episode is great! i’m with you greg! ah, n0ticed the new car sarah drove in meeting vivian?? it’s a 2011 Lotus Evora, (3.5L, 276bhp). its been a while since we’ve seen her drive that black porsche. maybe she bought a new one though…

Apr 13, 2011 @ 12:58 pm james

@ raz, the Porsche blew up, remember :)

Apr 13, 2011 @ 6:01 pm Ziv

@RAZ: The black porsche blew up in “Cat Squad” ep.

@zp3of7: I believe the computer scanned Elie’s face(face recognition software) to ensure she was the one using the laptop – once the computer identified her, it revealed the ‘Agent X’ files to her.

4 more episodes left this season…watch everyone!

I didn’t like this episode. I also found the poorly written Chess sequence to be kind of annoying.

Elie is Agent X and I predict Vivian will still turn out to be a good girl after all I predict. She can’t be that pretty and be bad. Maybe… Nah… not.

Totally engrossed in the episode. Good work for the Chuck crew.

I liked this episode but Ellie is starting to bug me a little bit. In the last arc of season 3, she started to get her nose into the spy game which ended up leading The Ring to Orion and his subsequent death.

During that arc, she seemed to be enjoying being part of the CIA to try to find her dad, but then when she found out that it was really all about Chuck, she demanded that Chuck have nothing more to do with the CIA.

This season, she finds her fathers computer and despite ordering Chuck to leave the CIA, she feels quite comfortable to play around with her fathers CIA research and keep it a secret from Chuck.

Ellie seems to like to run a set of double standards which will be interesting to watch as the season winds up.

As for Agent X, maybe Bryce is back. At the end of Season 2, Bryce was laying with his eyes open as Chuck uploaded the 2.0 so perhaps he is still alive and has been the guinea pig for Orions further research.

This is a bit out there, but so is the idea of Orion code naming Ellie as Agent X considering his strong opposition to Chuck being in the CIA.

My bet is that agent X is Chuck and has been named so in the computer so that Ellie does not tie her research to Chuck.

@james & ziv.
yeah2! i forgot to include that that porsche blew up. but anyways, i think that was a nice choice. c00l!…

As Lykaon,
have been unable to see the ep. Sounds awesome from the comments.
Agent X sounds interesting.
Cannot wait to see this and then the new 4 18 2011 ep w/Sarah’s dad.

Will he be the only Sarah family member to ever appear?
Carrie Underwood needs to guest as Sarah’s sister, now that she has acted in a role.
Or Katy Perry could guest, now that Yvonne/Sarah has reached out to her and Lady Gaga in her comedy spoof.

Interesting that Chuck was reading at the begining of the episode “Games of Thrones” by G.R.R. Martin end HBO just began airing the series. :-)
