Strahovski and Colonels
Yay! It’s time for some hardcore Charah action while Sarah & Chuck are on the run from a very unhappy John Casey.
I can’t really imagine a better setup for a good time, so let’s just get to the review of Episode 2.21 – Chuck Versus the Colonel.
“Your country thanks you, Colonel Casey.”
I don’t usually start with Casey, but tonight he deserves it. After Chuck betrayed Casey a few too many times, I was really having a hard time imagining Chuck not taking a bullet to the brain.
But Adam Baldwin is a masterful actor and brought Casey’s cold shoulder paired with his deeply buried warm heart in full force. His quips are always to die for, but tonight we got closer to Casey than we have in 2 seasons of Chuck.
If it were any other script or any other actor, I think I would balk at the speed with which Colonel Casey forgave his charges and joined their cause. But I bought it, and I loved it.
Three cheers to Adam Baldwin. In an episode full of Charah, he stole the show.
“Because the floor is gross…”
Now for the Charah. We knew it was coming from the promos, but it didn’t disappoint. I felt a little sorry for Chuck at first.
Sarah deciding to sleep in her panties was just downright mean if she wasn’t going to seduce him. She should have slept in her jeans if that’s what it took.
More than the overt make-out session, though, Yvonne Strahovski did her usual best with emoting even when she wasn’t ‘with’ Chuck.
When she found out what Chuck’s Dad had done, the look on her face made me think she was going to tackle Chuck right there in the backseat with Papa B and Casey watching. Classic Strahovski expression.
“I don’t even know where to get the knives.”
I’ve always liked how the Buy More plots mirror the spy plots, and this week’s was well done with Morgan’s emancipation.
I could have done without seeing J-Go topless, but I’ll let it slide since Anna is hot and I respect Morgan’s defiance. I’m always happy with anyone who sticks it to Emmett.
“From one stalker to another; I’m impressed.”
Not being well-versed in the Godfather movies, I’m sure there are a lot of Buy More references I missed at the beginning with Big Mike and Morgan.
The Buy More plot was pretty decent this time around, and I really liked the way the three plotlines tied together.
‘Stalker’ Casey was totally awesome (yes, that was intended) and I liked that Devon’s investigation led him to the Buy More. Stuff like that just makes the whole universe feel more connected.
It’s fun to entertain the possibilities of how the strange relationship between Casey and Chuck is viewed by outsiders. They’ve toyed with that on the Sarah & Chuck front often enough, but I’ve always wondered why no one questioned Casey’s sudden appearance on the scene.
“Not bad for a frat boy.”
Captain Awesome was totally radical (don’t wanna overuse the ‘A’ word) in this episode. I’ve long wished for a plotline involving Devon and Chuck’s secrety spy life.
The way in which is came out was totally perfect. As a geek, I know that one thing all geeks love to talk about is superhero match-ups — could Wolverine take Spidey? Would Batman have a chance against Superman?
That same nerve was hit when I got to see Captain Awesome square off against John Casey. I didn’t really think Awesome stood a chance, but it was still neat to see.
Coincidentally, we got the same treat when we got to see Sarah Walker versus John Casey. It was a banner geekgasm night, indeed.
I was a little disappointed that Devon lost all his cool when confronted by Ellie the first time, but he came through at the end with a nice little speech.
“I had no idea Tron was so popular.”
With all of the amazing character development, it’s actually surprising that the episode managed to advance the plot at all. But oh did it advance the plot.
It was good to see both Chevy Chase and Scott Bakula back in their roles. I do wonder why Roark would give Papa B so much leeway while under lock & key, but I guess it was necessary for the plot development.
For the sake of remaining as spoiler-free as possible, I’ll just say that Papa B’s handiwork was quite the gamechanger. Some people saw it coming, but it’s hard to imagine where they go from here. I assume the only way forward in this case will be back.
But in the meantime, at least we’ll get some new stuff and some different character interactions. This episode really tied up the ‘arc’ of the second season.
I’m definitely hoping for that 3rd season, but this episode would be a fitting series finale if it isn’t in the cards. So much so, that I really worry that next week’s episode will mess up the fairy-tale ending.
“I’ll go warm up the Vic.”
I get carried away with the episode sometimes and forget to dedicate a section to Yvonne Strahovski. It is her who this website is dedicated, and it is remiss of me to not spend more time for her.
Her acting is such a staple of the show that it’s easy to overlook the subtlety and perfection with which she plays her role. She got a fair amount of screen time this episode, and she handled it all well.
Not only that, but she looked stunning in her rehearsal dinner dress at the end. Chuck Bartowski is having one heck of a night. Let’s hope he cashed in that IOU from Morgan.
What did you guys think? Is it everything you could possibly want out of the season and even the series if it came to that?
Screen caps should be up tomorrow. Until then, let’s talk about the Colonel, the Charah, and the future.

I, of course, thought that Yvonne was AMAZING and her acting likewise. But, I’m probably the ONLY one who thinks this, I was disappointed by tonight’s episode. Maybe I just have a very “active” imagination and thought it would be better, but for some reason, I didn’t like it.
I thought that Casey was out of character for at least the first half of the episode. Beckman was a jerk. Captain Awesome was not totally awesome. Even Chuck got on my nerves more than usual. It was just…not what I expected. I’m going to try to watch it again tomorrow and maybe I’ll change my mind.
For the first time in like ever I can safely say that NOW I don’t agree with you, Lykaon.
April 20th, 2009 at 9:33 pm
Yeah I was pretty bummed that chuck lacked the uh “item” to seal the deal, but I was happy anyway.
April 20th, 2009 at 9:35 pm
That’s okay, nannygirl… if everyone always agreed with me, then no one would read my reviews.
I thought this one of the stronger episodes of the season, personally. I don’t think Casey was out of character at all when you consider the odd situation he was put in.
And I did mention in my review that Awesome failed to be totally awesome right after he found out Chuck’s secret. That part was a little disappointing.
April 20th, 2009 at 9:38 pm
This is the first time for me to leave a comment after one of your reviews (I do read them all and think they are always spot on) but this episode was second only to the pliot, so I just had to say. AWESOME!!!! I have been a fan of Adam Baldwin for a long time and he did not disappoint. Then to top it off with big scoop of Charah, I am in heaven.
April 20th, 2009 at 9:40 pm
I know, but usually I’m bouncing off of the walls after an episode. Now I’m just…eh. Maybe I’m sad because the season’s almost over, but the episode was just not up to par…for me.
And I understand Casey, but he could have been a little more…sympathetic. “I don’t care.”? He just seemed so cold.
April 20th, 2009 at 9:41 pm
This was an awesome (you can never overuse that word now) episode! Lykaon, you know that I love me some Charah. The whole Chuck and Sarah plot was well done. I was so ready to kill J-Go before I realized that I was mixing up the TV world and the Real world. Yvonne really made me feel that Sarah and Chuck were in L-O-V-E love, especially in the Castle holding cell.
The whole Buy More subplot was still lacking for me. I hate Emmitt, but it felt like something was missing. I do like how Morgan had stepped up as the leader in Chuck’s absence, but nobody seemed to notice that Chuck was gone until Awesome came and asked around.
I agree with you that Adam Baldwin was the main star of the episode. He made me believe that Colonel (!) John Casey was capable of killing Chuck. After all, he dropped a radiator on a FULCRUM agent’s head. He really came through for Chuck and that made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. The end was good. Obviously we know that Casey and Sarah (and Bryce!!) will be at Ellie’s wedding, but Adam made you think that Casey was just a cold-blooded, heartless bastard when Chuck asked him to come to the rehersal dinner as his friend.
Yvonne… what more can we say about Yvonne? She was absolutely stunning in this episode. And that dress! Oh…my…god! She looked beautiful in that dress. Chuck is a very lucky man. So is Zach, after all he got to kiss her.
The Awesome dynamic was good. He seemed generally concerned for Chuck’s welfare. We know that he cares for Chuck because he once called him the “little brother I never had.” (“Don’t you have two younger brothers Devon?) I can’t wait to see if Devon can hold it in. I think he will be… (wait for it!) awesome.
J-Go was fantastic in this episode as well. He mad
April 20th, 2009 at 9:42 pm
This episode was exceptional! If this is to be the end it was a great one to go out on. But I don’t think we’re done. (Spoiler?)
I think the return of Bryce next week will result in the Intersect being reinserted in Chuck’s head. I also think that Chuck, like Morgan, will be “emancipated” (and end up in Hawaii?) and become an official CIA agent.
The snuggling scene and the intertwining of fingers by Chuck and Sarah made my pea-pickin’ heart go pitter-pat. The release in Sarah’s face, and the quiet joy, was great to see. Is the blue wedding rehearsal dress the same one she wore in Best Friend, with the straps tied differently?
Casey is my hero! I think your assessment was right on, Lykaon. Casey is noble, and deep down “Johnny Boy” the “choir boy,” wants to be loved and really does care for Chuck and Sarah.
Why did Beckman act so weird when Chuck was trying to be warm and fuzzy? It was almost as if someone else (Bryce?) was in the room with her.
More later, I’m sure…
April 20th, 2009 at 9:43 pm
The episode was outstanding. I’ll refrain from using the “A” word.
Casey ping-ponging at the drop of a hat annoyed me to no end. I really wanted a five minute smackdown mano y mano between Sarah and Casey with Casey losing…against an agent better than him.
Yvonne Strahovski was incredible in this episode, her emotions flashing and finally being able to be let through. She’s so subtle yet so effective in her acting.
After seeing next week’s teaser I think even it will be even bigger than what we’ve seen.
*Spoiler Speculation Warning*
——–don’t read if not seen next week’s teaser——
I think Bryce is the bad guy. Gulp!
April 20th, 2009 at 9:44 pm
Honestly, I loved this episode. It was great! I had a blast watching the whole thing. It was amazing, I thought.
April 20th, 2009 at 9:45 pm
I think this episode was amazing, after the so so episode of last week i was a little worried, this guys redeemed themselfs with this one, just loved, the action, the drama, comedy, all was great, i agreed with you Lykaon, this could have been a great season finale.
April 20th, 2009 at 9:55 pm
Grear review! I think you’re right when you say that maybe the only way they can go now is back.
About the bedroom scene: too bad this is a G-rated show. Cause no one in their right mind would have stopped there to go look for a condom before the clothes were off. Man did he miss one there.
Ok off to the cold shower now
April 20th, 2009 at 10:02 pm
TT, I agree 100% but with a different twist.
First, awesome show, best yet.
Okay, so since I guessed right last time about Casey being promoted to Colonel but guessed wrong with the missile taking out Beckman, I am still willing to go out on a limb for the season finale prediction:
Bryce is the bad guy because he gets the Intersect back in Chuck’s head. He’s been Beckman’s boy all along and his mission will be to get Chuck back involved. Beckman made it very clear that Chuck was the only person who ever was able to find Orion, he has done more than any previous agent has ever done and they will need him to continue the fight against Fulcrum. I only hope they get the IOU in before it happens.
Watching again, more later.
April 20th, 2009 at 10:34 pm
Chuck is definetly one of the fastest hours on tv. I still wanna see Anna Woo kick some more butt.
April 20th, 2009 at 10:48 pm
Why did the Fulcum Agent call Sarah when Casey got Chuck at the motel????
April 20th, 2009 at 10:49 pm
Is the Fulcum agent good or is Sarah connected with Fulcum?
April 20th, 2009 at 11:26 pm
I knew Bryce was going to be there at the end. It would be the only untied up thread through season 2. Somehow Chuck is going to get the Intersect back in his head (where are those darn sunglasses Bryce used to update the Intersect?) and the whole show goes back to square one. I think that’s the ending that JS was referring to when he said people were going to be mightily upset after the finale.
Morgan’s emancipation: Morgan and Anna open up a Benihana in the same mall as the Buy More after returning from Hawaii. Jeff and Lester working there, maybe? All I can say is we better get Season 3!
April 20th, 2009 at 11:27 pm
@Cindy, I don’t think he was calling Sarah. He was calling Roark. Sarah probably just overeared Casey through the bathroom window.
April 21st, 2009 at 12:04 am
Loved the episode!!! We had Chuck and Sarah, awesome not being so awesome and Casey being himself. I thought it had a pretty good storyline but I’m definitely sad that we only have 45 minutes left to the season.
April 21st, 2009 at 12:11 am
Well, why is it that everyone who leaves the Buy More goes to Hawaii. Is that some government plot too? Okay probably not, but it’d be funny to have a Morgan ran into Tang plot sometime. Although, who leaves their wallet around somewhere where their best bud can filch things like that out? Really Chuck shouldn’t be that trusting with all the info that’s in his head.
April 21st, 2009 at 12:16 am
The episode was awesome. Everything about it was awesome. I honestly can say there isn’t one thing I would change. But I do agree Lykaon. Tonights episode was so good it tied together season two and the show itself up. And that next weeks episode may ruin the happy fairy tail ending I’m feeling right now. But I trust the writers and hope they pull through for us!
April 21st, 2009 at 12:17 am
AhhhH! I’m so high from another awesome episode! I thinnk this has gotta be my new most favorite episode!
April 21st, 2009 at 12:21 am
Wow, this show makes me feel so…good. Yup, that’s corny. Okay, this episode was fantastic for me. (But so was last weeks). It all feels like it is coming to an end. But how will I wait for next weeks finale? Anyways, this episode..I think Adam really did a great job, because what he was given was difficult. Being able to waffle without being overly corny and predictable seems hard. Yvonne was phenomenal. Her acting was very good and consistent throughout the whole episode. My favorite Yvonne scene was when she was going to bed to when Chuck got out of bed. Buy more..was good for me. Morgan is finally being a man, taking his girl and going after his dream (To be a benihanna chef!). I agree with you guys about Cptn A, he was a little weird when Ellie was confronting him, although I would probably be a little shaky too. Overall, great episode, and I am PUMPED for the finale.
April 21st, 2009 at 12:46 am
This episode was good enough to get me to post the first time. It had everything I’ve liked about Chuck. All the subtle and not so subtle Chuck/Sarah interaction was great. The director let Zach and Yvonne’s chemistry and good acting come through and didn’t make things artificial. And the IOU was a nice touch. The plot line with Devon was great. It actually had some of my favorite moments (Awesome vs. Casey, the confusion when Chuck and Sarah bust in, Jeff as a fellow stalker, etc). I actually liked the part where Awesome crumbled in front of Ellie, especially when he goes unfocused and she smacks him. Of course the episode goes to Mr. Baldwin who had a hard part to do, making the switch in loyalties seem plausible. And yay for Morgan, stepping up and talking charge of his life. Great episode.
April 21st, 2009 at 12:57 am
That episode was so awesome. Sarah and chuck were so great tonight and I thought it was cute how they focused so much on the holding hands throughout the episode.
Hopefully Byrce coming back doesnt impact on charah but I dont think it will.
April 21st, 2009 at 1:15 am
Yay! I love this episode and I want Season 3!!! The Chara romance scene was nicely done till the IOU note from Morgan. Morgan is such a loser that he took the condom from Chuck! It made me laugh. I agree with what someone mentioned above on the bedroom scene. So far all the romance scenes on Chuck are PG-13. Feel like I’m watching the movie Twilight. Maybe they’re trying to appeal to the teenager audience. But no big complaints from me. Yvonne kicked ass in this episode. So did Adam. Chuck needs a haircut as usual and he seemed to have grown up a little. He can be cute sometimes.
April 21st, 2009 at 1:27 am
This was a terrific episode–from start to finish! Loved the story progression, all the acting, the Charah, and everything in between. I thought the passion between Chuck and Sarah was palpable and I found myself cheering for Chuck at the Motel! Even though he was unable to “seal the deal” so to speak, it’s alright as it leaves a lot of room for future episodes, more angst, and who knows what else…
Scott Bakula and Chevy Chase, both of whom I did miss last week, continued to make the show ever more entertaining and exciting. Glad to see that Roark is still alive and back for more action next week. As has been said before, this is the fastest forty five minutes of TV, bar none.
My only change tonight… this would have been a great time for TWO episodes, back-to-back, instead of making us all painfully wait until next Monday’s Season Finale. Argh! Looks like it’ll be a good one though and I’m sure we all can’t wait to see what happens with Bryce back in town and Roark! (And what about Jill?! She’s still out there somewhere…)
It’s going to be a long, long week.
April 21st, 2009 at 1:39 am
Awesome Episode, had only one problem with it….. it felt like the finalé as if Chuck is now completely finished never to return for a 3rd season =(
April 21st, 2009 at 1:53 am
Folks, I don’t think I’m watching next week’s until I know there’s a season 3. If there isn’t, this should be the final episode. Chuck gets a “normal” life with Sarah (if you can call heaven normal).
Next week, they’re sure to blow it all to hell to build for season 3. Chuck’s going to decide he needs to be a spy to save his dad, or Ellie, or Sarah, or something. He’s going to ASK to have the Intersect back in his head. Bryce is going to be there to help him. And that’s going to get us to “off again” with Chuck and Sarah. All blown to hell. That’s tolerable, I guess, IF there’s a season 3.
But there’s the nightmare! What if there’s no season 3 and the last image we have is of Sarah sad again?
The irony is I’m betting that after 2 years of routing for them to be together, the writers drive more people away with the “on again, off again” now than they keep. The show offers so many other things, and I know I’d keep watching if we had a happy couple. I’d look forward to it even more.
Anyway, pre-order the Season DVD on Amazon in hopes pre-sales are strong enough to tell NBC there’s one more reason to renew. Download it on iTunes. Watch the webcasts. Letters are nice … dollars and ad impressions are nicer. And let’s hope for Season 3.
Meantime, seriously, I don’t think I’m watching next week. If this is the end, I want to go out remembering Sarah’s last smile.
April 21st, 2009 at 2:05 am
Loved the CHARAH but hated the whole note thing. Morgan is such a pain in the posterior for Chuck, he may be family but I was seriously hoping Chuck and Sarah would at long last get to be together. And speaking of that scene, Yvonne was amazing when she was alone, emoting her desire, her need for Chuck, it was simply stunning to watch that woman yet again prove that she’s one of the best actresses on TV.
Casey, I liked it but it was forced. With all the character development they needed to elaborate on how he felt betrayed for NOT being asked to join their plan to spring Chuck’s father or provide some other reason for his quick turn around. Even Adam has his limits, although he did a great job of selling it.
Plot – Yes, they’re going to have to have Chuck get the intersect back in his head, that or Sarah gets kidnapped and to rescue her he volunteers to have it put back in. Somehow they’re going to keep Chuck and Sarah from ever sleeping together and still have him as the intersect and Beckman’s personal dog’s body. Life is teh suck if your chuck.
April 21st, 2009 at 2:08 am
I loved the episode! I am amazed at how much they can pack into one show!
I am, also, amazed at how many seem to need a sex scene. Does them being together require an onscreen them “being together”? Love and sex don’t equal each other! lol
Yvonne was superb as always! She put Chuck in the situation she wanted, but still has not said “it.”
Jeff and Lester are very dangerous, even though they don’t have a functioning brain lobe between them!
The “furry bastard” can’t be gone! Morgan can’t be gone long — he just said who needs friends he has Chuck!
I’m glad Adam was able to be such a focus this week! And he was given the termination order, but did things his way(Sarah’s way). Creative interpretation of orders
Usually the week in between episodes tough, but this week is going to be excruciating! Knowing I have to wait a couple weeks to find out and then a couple months to see new eps will drive me nuts! “Oh boy,” I have to learn patience!
April 21st, 2009 at 3:50 am
as mentioned above this is going to be a brutal week and I sure hope there’s a season three because I know they’re going to mess up what seems to have worked out so nicely!
April 21st, 2009 at 4:06 am
I hope someone uploads the whole episode on youtube… The person who uploaded the video lacks the last part….SHAKS!! the video ended when CHuck closed his eyes when the intersect is showing… CRAP… by the way.. I like the episode..
April 21st, 2009 at 4:40 am
Well I’m going to use the word Lykaon.. AWESOME!
Loved the episode and of course the review ( the latter goes without saying)…. *lesigh* only one more to go!
April 21st, 2009 at 8:03 am
Chuck : “It feels great actually; Like everything is real.”
Sarah : “It is real”
Okay call me an old softie and a romantic but if they ended it all here I would be a happy person. Ain’t love grand
I really loved the scene where they were in the car and Chuck and Sarah find out that the intersect is out of Chuck’s head, as the drive in explodes behind them.
http://www.100megsfree4.com/lastone/Chuck/Charah.jpg
oh and I caught a Sarah Chuck smile
http://www.100megsfree4.com/lastone/Chuck/Charah.1.jpg
Aaghh! Sigh!
April 21st, 2009 at 8:24 am
I loved this episode so much. Yvonne is wonderful! I think she really knows how to be a girly girl when she needs to, and super butt-kicking fighter when called upon! Plus it is the skill in acting to fill in the void that both Yvonne and Adam have, and I think this episode maintained the proper weirdness that Chuck has always had. I somehow think only Chuck’s brain can take the intersect (notice how no one else has the intersect) and he is going to be called upon to be an asset once again. Morgan leaving won’t necessarily kill the show (think about The Office, as Michael Scott has quit Dunder Mifflin but the show is still pumping along). I heard a bit of the preview with Chuck’s dad saying that Chuck wasn’t a spy but I’m thinking Chuck is going to come to the rescue anyway (he never stays in the car) and perhaps Bryce shoots him (and Chuck gets resurrected–just like Bryce did). There’s so much that can happen!
April 21st, 2009 at 8:45 am
Wow!!!!! What an episode! Everything I hoped for, Although I was reaching for my wallet to help Chuck out with his IOU problem. Still a classic way to keep things respectable, and light. I truely was happy with this episode. Everybody was great! Even Devon, please remember Devon is a straight arrow and has never lied to Ellie, even if he thinks he screwed up at the bachelor party. Wow Yvonne, Great……!! Now unfortunately, I’m going to spend all this week worrying how this fairy tale ending is going to get screwed up. Please God, a season 3……
April 21st, 2009 at 9:03 am
I loved the episode. I thought the romance scene was perfect. I saw the Morgan IOU bit coming. You can’t cross the line now. Save it for a future season!
I can’t wait for the screen caps. Please include every frame of Yvonne/Sarah coming to bed.
Baldwin pulled off Casey’s tough-guy love for his country and yet also for his team very well.
Awesome digging into Casey’s stuff and then having to confront Casey in a fight was great. But I agree with nannygirl about Awesome not holding it together with Ellie. That wasn’t Awesome-like.
Emmitt… we’re supposed to hate him. In some ways he’s the General Beckman of Bizzarro Chuckworld, with perhaps a splash of FULCRUM, or in any case he’s the authority with whom you can’t disagree without consequences.
The BuyMore Godfather scenes were OK.
Chuck’s Intersect must return. Bryce is the perfect way to do so. Somebody was to the left of General Beckman… probably was Bryce or something pertaining to getting the Intersect back into Chuck’s head.
I did not see Chevy Chase’s character as being the one with the thumb out for a ride. I thought it was going to be the dude from The Mummy movies (whose character is probably still alive, too).
April 21st, 2009 at 10:30 am
Great Episode!
Chuck and Sarah in bed. AWESOME!
Morgan taking Chuck’s condom. NOT AWESOME!
Jeff and Lester blowing up the electrical box with stuff from Casey’s locker, so Chuck an Sarah can escape. AWESOME!
Awesome finding out Chuck is a spy. AWESOME!
Casey wanting in on the rescue mission. AWESOME!
Casey giving Sarah credit and saving her butt. AWESOME!
Great episode, but it left me feeling a bit uneasy. In 60 seconds or less Chuck went from Reluctant Hero to Buy More Zero. Morgan is leaving for his dream, and Chuck is right where he was when the show started. I would say, great he finally has a real relationship with Sarah…but with the previews of next weeks episode and Bryce in the picture, the nerd may not get the girl after all. Guess Josh and Chris didn’t hear the fans at Comic Con 2009 in NYC when the fans voiced that Bryce Larkin is the character they would least like to see come back. In one episode they were able to unravel the team and the premise for the show.
If season 3 does happen…which I am still optimistic it will…what will the title be? Chuck can do anything now, but he has no special powers…will it come back as:
“Chuck’s Anatomy”, “My Name is Chuck”, “Gossip Chucks”, “Dancing with the Chucks”, “Chuck’s Idol”, “Chucks and Recreation”, “Chuck’s LAnd”, “Dukes of Burbank”?
I love the show, but even if Chuck is not the Intersect any more he’s still in danger…being Orion’s son…and having the capability to be the intersect. Which, since you asked…Ellie has the same genes as Chuck…could she be intersected also?
I continue to watch and love the show.
April 21st, 2009 at 11:45 am
Well, first off after 2 viewings I have to say that I agree with OD and several others in that it was a great episode but a tad too rushed and compacted for my complete liking. There was allot there to be explored and I cannot help but think that if they had not have danced around quite so much through the middle of the season that this arguably more interesting sequence could have been explored with more depth. But thats all here and there.
What I liked about the episode ironicly was that it explored more the relationship between Casey and Chuck & Sarah than than the Chuck and Sarah romance (a dissapointment unto itself but more on that later.) The times where Casey caught up to them were as equally entertaining as they were telling about his character. He was told to bring Chuck and Sarah back dead or alive and even in spite shooting Chuck’s photo his obvious intent was to bring Chuck back alive, though he might have left Sarah to fend for herself with Fulcrum. Ultimately, however he came around (arguably a byproduct of Beckman’s dismissal of his word and the value of Stephen Bartowski’s life) as illustrated perfectly when he told Chuck everything they had done wrong, which lastly including not involving him. Could not have handled that any better. Sure some things were confusing, like what was Casey going to do with Awesome but you can’t have everything in a 42minute show so I give the show that one.
As far as the Chuck and Sarah relationship, it pretty much went just as I had figured it would once we got the condom spoiler from Ausello. My one gripe being the dialogue they had when they went to bed, more of the same old Sarah BS about Chuck being her job and one mission at a time. I thought for sure beyond the obvious physical exploration we were going to get something more meaningfull through the hotel setup, but we didnt. Perhaps, in the finale though that seems to be the sentiment that keeps being said at the close of each episode…perhaps in the next one. The bit at the ending was a nice touch, both literally and figuratively as Sarah acknowledged its all real, clearly alluding to her and Chuck’s “relationship” and followed by the hand caress scene…boy they just love to have them hold hands don’t they.
Morgan’s out of the Buy More, I’m ready for it to rot and fall of the vine, at least in its current capacity. I understand its marketing value should we get a 3rd season but there just is not much it can offer the story line any longer with the exception of the odd and perverse adventures of Jeffster.
So all things considered besides a few loose ends and otherwise odd scenss it was dare I say an awesome episode sure to be enjoyed by Laura and I many times over. Everything seems to be pointed in the right direction and that makes me more curious than ever what the PONR is going to be and in what direction the show is going to launch in those last 10 fatefull minutes of the finale. Between the white room, Sarah screaming and the return of Larkin it would certainly seem that everything is going to be thrown at us, even the kitchen sink…which is good because we need Chuck to be Awesome heading into the unknown.
One last note, hard to beleive we are really at the end of the season/series isn’t it. Doesn’t seem all that long ago we were all watching Chuck Versus the First Date.

This one didn’t disappoint. Right up there with the best of them.
Very minor picks with this episode. The Awesome character doesn’t always come across as being really sharp upstairs which would be OK if he was an orderly or something. People who perform or even assist in surgery are very sharp generally. The idea of him working on me with that dull point up there is scary. The way he totally lost his marbles after getting the spy info was therefore a bit jarring. Baldwin’s character really doing a flip was a little hard to swallow. His character seems to be very much “in the moment.” Right now the mission is totally successful therefore Casey looks good. When Casey looks bad his character should flip back again to a bad guy. If it doesn’t happen I’ll “may” have trouble staying with it. This isn’t a pick with Baldwin actually. He did his best with the script he was handed.
Yvonne was a wonderful actress to watch again. Outstanding performance in every respect. I know she’s got it right when my wife gets pulled in too. That’s the acid test. Just totally incredible as is this web site that honors her work.
Like some of you I almost dread what will likely happen next. One good thing about a possible bad resolution at the end is it increases the chance this series will morph into a full length movie or appear on another network like Sci-Fi if the show is not picked up for season 3.

Truer words were never spoken. It’s been wild and wonderful ride. I’d like to take this opportunity to thank all the Actors, Writers, Josh S and Chris F for being so damn good at their jobs. Thanks for all their hard work and dedication. And of course my favorite Yvonne, she manages to make Sarah come to life each week..and leave us heart warmed. Zach for making Chuck so likable. Adam for making Casey so believable. And the rest of the cast just for being great!
Can’t wait for the next episode.

Ok,
So after waiting all week for Vs. the Colonel, i feel satisfied. I keep grinning like an idiot playing clips over in my head today. My co-workers probably think I am nuts. Indeed, the show seems to be taking pains to tie up all the loose ends in the event that TV decides to truly suck and cans the show. When Veronica Mars was canned it was wide open…Lets all hope REALLY HARD that Chuck is picked up for 3. Yvonne was incredibly hot and I was super impressed with Awesomes punch on Casey…kinda wish that had played out a bit longer….They have Ellie and Awesome wedding invite E-cards on NBC.com, so go send one. Surely someone is keeping track of how popular that is…

Chuck episode 22 is the last!?
April 21st, 2009 at 12:34 pm
Who can tell me!?
And Chuck will be hv a S3 or not?
April 21st, 2009 at 1:04 pm
i think the episode was AWESOME though i was a little cut off on the make out scene harhar!!you know what i think??its either there will be a reinsertion on Chuck’s brain or he will be a REAL AGENT of course as Sarah and Casey’s partner and do missions together since it will be a GAME CHANGING something on the next season (sooo possitive that there will be more seasons to come)…because that will be the only plot i can think that those 3 main characters jives together..remember what Papa B said to chuck on next week episode promo “dont go,your not a spy!” maybe he will realize that he’s actually destined to be one and make petition to beckman or something..in case this happens, i hope there will be like intersect that makes him a good spy like fighting skills and stuff..that would be soooooooo cooooooool!!!
April 21st, 2009 at 1:29 pm
Chuck does have field experience…don’t know why they wouldn’t take him as an agent if he wanted to be one. Train him correctly, it’s not beyond his grasp.
And as we saw earlier, he doesn’t like being left behind, so it’s hard to imagine them as not being at team (Chuck, Sarah, Casey).
April 21st, 2009 at 1:34 pm
I really liked the way that the condom scene, because it was a tasteful way of showing that they want to get together while keeping Charah in suspense a little longer. They were ready to try again in the jail cell, LOL. That keeps things fresh, now they are at the point in their relationship when they are looking for chances to get together. This is like being a teenager again for me. I like that angle of them really wanting each other but still having to find their opportunities.
I did not get the Casey role at all. Why did he get so callous and then switch mindsets so fast? I really liked Casey in this episode, don’t get me wrong, he was hilarious, I just felt that the transormation was way way overplayed and unnatural. Beckman was even worse…
I had a major panic attack at the end of the show….this could be the end….please everybody write a letter to NBC (address provided at this website). Or spend time at the official website for Chuck and watch downloads, or pre-order the DVDs at Amazon. JUST MAKE SOME NOISE TO NBC!!! We are a small group of dedicated fans who watch this show and we need an oversized response to get noticed.
I will have another panic attack if this show is cancelled for sure….no more Yvonne…
April 21st, 2009 at 2:24 pm
Windfarmer… “Which, since you asked…Ellie has the same genes as Chuck…could she be intersected also?”
Good call! That’s probably another reason why Chevy Chase’s character wants to snuff out Ellie. Ellie did have that “it’s in the genes” line when talking about abandonment issues but we could read that line another way.

DEVIATING FROM REALITY
This episode caused to see how much I love the show “Chuck” even if it’s not written very well. I was really happy to get my “Chuck” Fix, but I would rate this as one of the more poorly written episodes.
Maybe if some of you may disagree with me, but if you remove what they claim to be a “Love Scene” where they didn’t go all the way and the “awesome” part where Devon finds out Chuck’s secret, it’s not realistic.
I’ll be the first to concede that if you read my Predictions I made about what I thought was going to happen in the show, I was way off. I picked up that Casey gets promoted to Colonel and that that Chuck didn’t sleep on the floor leading up to a shared bed.
MORGAN + CHUCK’S DAD + BRYCE = NO SEX
Some of the people had cued in that the teaser promos we saw of Chuck and Sarah making out was just kissing and that they’d get interrupted or wouldn’t go through with it.
Leave it to Morgan to be thrown in there to keep Chuck from going all the way with that stolen condom from Chuck’s Wallet. You have to even wonder when Morgan pickpocketed Chuck to remove the condom. Chuck has his wallet on him at all times at the Buy More, which would be the most likely time snag the condom. Stealing it at Chuck’s place would be the best time, but couldn’t Morgan have bought a pack of condoms by that time vs. having to steal it off of his friend Chuck?
In retrospect, I forgot to take into account what kind of scenes would include Chuck’s dad. In the Discussion Threads, there was a lot of theorizing about what’s going to happen with Chuck and Sarah in the “Colonel” episode but no one really gave much thought as to what Chuck’s dad is going to be doing.
Another thing I should have picked up on was the chatter in the Discussion Groups about Bryce. Someone had said that Bryce was going to be there. I feel we should have picked up on that clue that if Bryce is going to show up that Chuck and Sarah wouldn’t make out.
The writers have a sneaky way of balancing it out where Chuck’s chances winning Sarah over are psychological and emotional and never sexual. The characters Bryce and Cole are your James Bond types.
LUCY YANKING THE FOOTBALL SO CHARLIE BROWN FALLS ON HIS BACK
Not to rain on anyone’s parade who thinks that this episode was spectacular, but I would claim that the pulled a Lucy from “Peanuts” on us with the football.
It’s where Lucy tells Charlie Brown to kick the football and promises not yank the football out of the way so that Charlie Brown doesn’t kick at nothing and fall on his back.
- Lucy symbolizes the writers.
- The football symbolizes Chuck and Sarah going all the way
- Charlie Brown symbolizes the audiences that have been hungry to see the two finally get together
If you read all the chatter in the Discussion Groups about how excited and anxious people were to finally see Chuck and Sarah get it on, there were a lot of posts.
Devon learning about Chuck’s secret is indeed “awesome,” but I claim that really sharp people would recognize that it’s distraction on the part of the writers to soothe the fans who would be upset when they realize that Chuck and Sarah didn’t go all the way.
The writers knew that if they didn’t give the fans something else to be excited about, there would be civil unrest pulling something like that where tease the audiences with promos like that for a week and then it turns out to be just hot and heavy kissing in bed.
WHY DIDN’T ROARK USE THE PAY PHONE AT KFC VS. HITCHHIKING?
If you remove the part where Captain Awesome finds out, what is left with the episode?
They gave coordinates for Black Rock where it’s across from a KFC. For those people who looked up it up on Google Map, it’s within the city limits of Barstow. There wer rural and residential areas.
That episode deviated from reality for me where you see General Beckman issue the order to blow up the beejesus out of that Drive-In Movie Theatre right across from a KFC.
While it looked cool seeing out the back window of Casey’s Crown Vic the “towering inferno” left behind, something blown up of that magnitude would be seen miles away by the residents.
They could pull an “Iron Man” where Rhodes says that it was a “Training Exercise,” I suppose.
If it’s true that Black Rock is right across from a KFC, why didn’t Ted Roark just walk across to use a Pay Phone from the KFC rather than hitchhiking?
For Ted Roark who is the CEO of RI with the most advanced technology, he doesn’t have a Cell Phone or a Blackberry? If you want to argue that Roark wouldn’t want the government tracing his cell phone, then I suppose you could say that.
If Roark didn’t want to draw attention in case any of the local authorities might spot him and tip the government off that Roark isn’t dead, I guess you could argue that, too.
I realize that scene was more to show that Roark isn’t dead so you don’t want to overanalyze it. It’s easy to sit back and criticize the writing when you’re not the one having to write the episodes.
I just claim that one of the hard parts about scenes like that in today’s society is that everybody’s got a cell phone where they can reach anyone anywhere.
CASEY SAYING THAT WALKER GOING AWOL WAS A PLAN
While Casey making up a story that Agent Walker was doing a secret project to make it look like she went AWOL is nice and keeps Agent Walker from being court marshalled for treason, I think that’s weak.
When they showed the scene where Sarah and Chuck are in the holding area, that’s the gray area. If it was really true that it was all ruse, then there would have been no need for them to be in the holding cell.
Do you remember how pissed Beckman was when Chuck went and did his search for Orion? She flew out to Burbank. If it was really true that the AWOL ruse was a secret operation, Beckman should have been just as pissed at Agent Walker for pulling something like that.
Sure, maybe you could argue that because it was supposedly Agent Walker’s secret plan and not Chuck that she’d have more leverage, but Agent Walker has been under the close scrutiny of Beckman.
Casey’s apartment is has all the recordings showing the fight and Devon. If Beckman wanted to see the file footage, it would show based off of the dialogue that Sarah really did go AWOL. So Casey would have to destroy that video footage.
When Beckman has a video conference with Casey who has his hands tied behind his back, Beckman isn’t her usual observant or suspicious self. She can notice little details like Casey’s fingers all cut up from gift wrapping in “Chuck vs. the Santa Claus” but she conveniently has a blind eye not noticing that Casey’s hands are behind his back.
SUMMARY
A lot my predictions on how the show would unfold were because I thought they did it and would need some time to sort their feelings. Because they didn’t go through with it, then my guess was off when I said that they’d do an opening scene with the two of them in bed together in the morning and skip the part of them finding a motel together.
When all is said and done, would I rewatch the episode like I do the others? The answer is yes. I enjoy this episode more than I do the episodes with Bryce or Cole in them.
I can complain and make a big fuss about what I find wrong with this episode, but I still liked the episode. I’m just really disappointed. I’m happy that Captain Awesome knows. In the grander scale of things, I would concede that the path the writers took with this episode makes sense.
However, it still comes back to what I said weeks ago that the survival of the show comes first before Chuck’s happiness. As I said, the ratings are more important.
There were all these posts 24 hours before the episode aired about progression of the relationship between Chuck and Sarah, references to how it worked out in “Farscape,” etc.
In my eyes, nothing has really changed in the relationship between Chuck and Sarah. “Chuck vs. the Colonel” is a redo of “Chuck vs. the Imported Hard Salami” with “the kiss” before a bomb. The following episode of “Chuck vs. the Ring” with Bryce showing up is just like “Chuck vs. the Nemesis” with Bryce showing up in the following episode.
I still say it’s that saying, “Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.”
Like Charlie Brown, I trusted the writers as Lucy promising to let me kick the football (see Chuck and Sarah make out) and it got yanked out and I’m now laying flat on my back
.
This will lead up to future irritation with “Chuck vs. the Ring” when we see Bryce show up and if there are any sparks that fly again between Bryce and Sarah while poor Chuck is kicking himself because he didn’t get to make out with Sarah thanks to Morgan stealing his condom.

I feel I need to chime in on Casey’s behavior. A few notes on the thought processes of a career Soldier, Sailor, Airman, or Marine (from someone who is one). Your training and experience is such that you have to rely on three things: your country, your chain of command, and your comrades in arms. If you get into a very bad situation, you have to trust that your country is going to do everything they can to get you out or you lose your will to survive and resist. You have to trust that your chain of command is making lawful, moral decisions and issuing lawful, moral orders, and if they don’t, you have a legal and moral obligation to disobey those orders. Finally, your word to your fellow Soldier, Sailor, Airman, or Marine is sacred, because you expect their’s to you to be the same, and your life could depend on them. You don’t leave a comrade in arms hanging, ever.
So, here’s Casey’s dillemma. Gen Beckman has not given him a single illegal order yet…maybe a few that skirted the morality line, but that’s for another discussion. Her orders also appeared to be in Chuck’s best interest (physically, not mentally or emotionally, but that doesn’t matter). It wasn’t until the actions of his chain of command went contrary to his word to his comrades in arms (both his promise to Chuck that his father would be safe and the fact that Stephen had well and faithfully served his country making him a comrade in arms) that Casey had any internal conflict. His decision to support his fellow team members is very much in line with what a lot of military members would do, especially those from the special operations community. It also shows that, though he still gives Chuck crap about a lot of things, he has a certain amount of respect for him. The common belief in this world is that as long as those around you care enough to give you grief and tease, life is good. As soon as things get serious and formal, that’s when you have a problem.
OK, enough about Casey. I was so afraid that part way into the “wake-up scene” one of them would “wake up” and it would have been someone’s dream. I found the actual solution far more emotionally satisfying if only because it really was them and it wasn’t just in either of their heads. While the condom issue was frustrating (I would probably have walked right up to Morgan the next time I saw him and punched him in the face), on a deeper level it kept their relationship a little more innocent. I like that idea. Moving them into a physical relationship would be way too easy…any show can do that. I’m glad the writers and producers took the high road.
I agree with many…Chuck is going to get the Intersect back, he’s going to take it back voluntarily to protect someone he loves, and we’re going to be treated to more Charah drama because now Sarah is going to be back in that “he’s the asset and a relationship would be too dangerous” mode.
I’m really hoping for a season three, because there is so much more great storytelling available.

I just wrote NBC to tell them that I will be buying a subway footlong for the season finale!
Apparently this is a big movement amoung Chuck fans, to buy a subway footlong next Monday. So I feel good about myself anyway, and if NBC betrays me than at least I did what I could as a fan to support the show.

Rodillon: You should have been an investigator for the WTC/911 event. We might be telling a different story today. Me, I just suspend that kind of disbelief for TV Land and enjoy the show. I do wonder what the writers have in store for us but I really don’t care about fictional inconsistencies.
f0rt_bragg: Thank you for your service to the United States of America. I am very glad to read what you say about the men and women of our military. “I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic.” – from the U.S. military officer oath. The foreign enemies I think our troops have pretty much under control. It’s those pesky domestic ones in office and behind the scenes of our politicians that really concern me these days.
Yes, I’m a right-wing extremist if that’s what you call someone who expresses concerns about illegal immigration, increasing federal power, restrictions on firearms, high inflation and taxes, the U.S. financial insolvency, and the loss of U.S. sovereignty. Please don’t ban me for this post. Even a right-wing extremist needs a Yvonne Strahovski fix every now and then and this is the best site of its kind.

Just rewatched last night’s episode. Is that the same drive in movie theater that was used as the rocket control base in “Spies Like Us?” Chevy’s being there in combination with the drive in itself is S&F’s biggest tip of the hat to that movie yet.
I’m watching the Finale and looking forward to it. I like the idea of S&W moving the show to one of the cable networks, but would that be economically feasible? I also like the idea of Subway footlong. I’m in!
April 21st, 2009 at 4:43 pm
@Rodillon
Although it would make sense that Roark could call anyone I don’t know who he would call. If he called his legitimate company they would wonder why he was there and in such bad shape. He would have to make up a story and the cops might get involved which would be bad for him. If he called FULCRUM it probably would be worse. He just failed them miserably. He was going to kill Chuck’s dad and company for failure. Would FULCRUM not be interested in killing/imprisoning/torturing/etc. Roark after his failure on the Intersect and loss of a number of their top agents?
So even though it may seem stupid I think hitching a ride would be the best way for Roark to get somewhere without the attention of the government or those he just failed.

[...] This episode was one of the best of the series, so it’s no wonder that I’ve added a whopping 90 new screen captures to the gallery for Episode 2.21 – Chuck Versus the Colonel. [...]

I realize a lot of you put a lot of thoughts in the overall story line development in each episodes. It’s true that the writers have pulled a few too many tricks on us. Season 2’s writing hasn’t been that consistent. You can find plot holes here and there. The hot and heavy kissing really did turn out to be a teaser in last episode. But the elements I like about any TV show are there. It’s light and comical with tons of pop culture references and likable actors. My only complaint maybe the characters lack a little bit depth and the romance is too teenager like. Otherwise, the writers have done a good job in keeping the story line going. I like this show overall. I’m just tired of all the crime shows and doctor shows on TV. This is really a good show for us not-so-geeky geeks.
April 21st, 2009 at 7:55 pm
I’m in on the foot-long – Italian BMT with jalapenos!
f0rt_bragg’s explanation of Casey’s motivations was very helpful. Thank you, for that, and for your service to our country.
I am feeling better about Season 3 becoming a reality. I think I can see papa B. and Roark being recurring protagonists/antagonists in the series. My previous dislike for Chevy Chase is melting; he makes a really nasty bad guy.
I don’t think Sarah will revert back to the “asset/handler” mindset. I think that she will be having enough challenges coming to grips with her past relationships and family history that a stable relationship with Chuck may be the one thing that keeps her from wigging out.
April 21st, 2009 at 11:09 pm
f0rt_bragg Thank you and God Bless you!
I, too, believe we are mostly done with the asset/handler mindset. Except, of course, when she needs to pull rank on Chuck and try to get him to do what he’s told, for once!
Sarah didn’t kinda, sorta, maybe, possibly do something that might be construed. . . IMO She threw the book out of the window and chose Chuck. I’m glad she retained her job and I’m sure she’s relieved. However, if everything stayed exactly as it was at the end of the ep, she would have to quit or find a way to bring Chuck on her new assignment. Personally, I think she had her breakthrough emotionally the previous ep, came to terms in this one and will admit it to Chuck by the end of vs. the Ring. With how she handled Bryce, and then Cole, I can no longer see a beefcake type hurdle for Charah. It could lead to some amusing situations, though!
On side note, I hope we get to see Sarah’s dad again!
Here’s something funny for you: We are having a sales competition at work. Our store manager divided the salespeople into Team A and Team B, but told them to
pick names those were just placeholders. I suggested Awesome for Team A and they loved it! I then made a nametag for their captain, yes, you guessed it! Captain Awesome! Every person on the team has adopted a Chuck character’s name for the contest! For team B, I suggested Team: Bartowski, Buy More, Buymoria, but they rejected all of my Chuckgestions. So, now I know that I have a bunch of Fulcrum agents working at my store. Help me, please!
April 22nd, 2009 at 6:58 am
I don’t know what i can say that hasn’t already been said about this episode. AWESOME!!! Haven’t read all of the comments so I may not be the first to mention this: Might ‘The Ring’ in the season finale title be tied to Jill somehow? After all, Chuck did give her that huge rock at the end of ‘First Kill.’ For some reason I just feel like the Jill arc isn’t quite done yet. The whole idea of Bryce being the bad guy is interesting as well. Whatever happens in the finale, I hope we all will be satisfied given the chance of Chuck not getting picked up for a 3rd season. I’ve sent my snail mail and signed all these online petitions. Let’s hope that all of our efforts keep Chuck alive! Yvonne in panties = OMG!!!
April 22nd, 2009 at 12:40 pm
One word describes the episode….
AWESOME
Can’t wait for next week and all of the surprises….love the idea of the footlong sub – been buying them since I noticed they support Chuck.
April 22nd, 2009 at 12:42 pm
The fort bragg poster is correct. I rewatched the Casey parts of the episode and the sequence goes like this:
Beckman says bring Charah back DEAD OR ALIVE.
Casey makes no attempt to kill them, even after Sarah drops him with a two by four and straps him to a radiator and Chuck disobeys his orders to drive away and leave Sarah behind. So plus one point for Casey.
Next Sarah in the car comments that Casey apparently doesn’t care about his team. Casey is grumpy and agrees, however it was Sarah’s words in his mouth. I call that a draw, no point for Casey but none subtraced.
Then Casey gives his word to get Chuck’s father back. Give Casey another +1.
Casey then acts like he will kill Devon. This is actually the first real let down for me. I subtract minus two points for this and just plain don’t like it. I hope he would not have really done it.
Next Casey and Beckman talk again and she says let the bombs drop and that is that.
Casey goes back to defend his word of honor and ultimately to help the team. Big plus one for Casey.
Casey gets Sarah out of trouble with Beckman…huge plus one for Casey.
Casey goes to the wedding rehersal as a friend, another plus one for Casey.
So finally tally is plus three for Casey and the big strike against him was trying to kill Awesome, not obeying/disobeying orders.
April 22nd, 2009 at 5:47 pm
As always, a fantastic episode.
Can’t wait until next week, so, some speculation if I may. Rumors of a second wedding abound, Here are my thoughts on who it might be the lucky couple:
Morgan and Anna,
Big Mike and Morgan’s Mom
Chuck and Sarah (we all wish!)
Elle and Devon (because something goes wrong with the original ceremony and they have to hold a second one)
Not sure which one I’m backing….
Anyways, just my thoughts. Of course it will be typical Chuck and who knows what will really happen.

John Casey is the man. I really liked the episode from Monday. All but one thing I really don’t want Chuck to be done for. I got that feeling when Morgan quit, then the intersect was erased from Chucks head. I did love Adams job Monday, he was great as he allways is. Yvonne was awesome, as she is in every episode. This time Sarah and Chuck got a little closer than any time before, and would have gone all the way if it would have not ben for Morgan. Yvonne is what really holds Chuck together and I was happy for them to get together I just hope they stay strong we all know that want one another. I just don’t want all because Chuck and Sarah hook up that it would be the end of the show. I am exited to watch next week but I don’t want to see the last Chuck episode( you know what I mean) I hope that everything works out and I am anxious to find out how Dr Awesone is going to handle knowing about Chuck. I would love to see Sarah and Chuck all over each other again, but I did see Brice in the promo… So I guess we will see how that works out. Big props to Zach and everyone. Yvonne I love you you are great. Adam YOU ROCK!!!! Let’s all pray that we will see a season 3. You better know I will be
April 23rd, 2009 at 10:19 am
WOW, WOW, WOW. LOVED THIS EPISODE!! Definitely the best episode this season, and I think they should continue to be this bold. It’s exactly what the show needs to keep it on the air. Strahovski?? HOLY CRAP. She’s the hottest thing on the planet, hands down. I hope it doesn’t end, but I have to agree that if it does, this wasn’t a bad way to go. I also liked the jail scene, “2 bed?” haha, she looked adorable there.
April 24th, 2009 at 10:06 am
I haven’t commented in a while…so I just want to say THIS EPISODE WAS THE BEST EPISODE EVER!!!! Yvonne looked wicked hot. I can’t wait for the season finale.
April 24th, 2009 at 3:20 pm
I have been watching all the videos that fans made on youtube under ‘chuck and sarah’ and it is amazing. Today I noticed a bunch of ’save chuck’ videos on youtube and they are really awesome too.
I have been drooling about eating a subway footlong sub all week because normally I just eat in. So for me it will be a fun thing to do on Monday.
April 24th, 2009 at 5:05 pm
this is my favorite episode till date!…most of us thought this was an AWESOME episode…[except for nanny :p but i believe she'll come around]…yes, it was jam-packed but i felt like it was done nicely by the writers…everyone shined in this episode…we finally got some positive action from charah
i’m glad they didn’t go all the way…save some of the sweet stuff for later…the writer’s could of easily messed up the motel scene but they didn’t…it was perfectly done!…i loved how they were touching their hands before the action started…it’s just like they’re real relationship (takes a while for it to hit lift-off)…lol…zac and yvonne did an amazing job in that scene…especially with their acknowledgment of what’s about to happen between them <3
casey was phenomenal in this episode…*ahem* COLONEL Casey…lol…from the get-go i didn’t know what to expect from him…was he loyal to beckman or team bartowski?…i loved how he acted in this episode…to see him being all cold and then loyal again…adam really used his acting chops in this one
devon was just AWESOME!…we haven’t really seen a lot of emotions from awesome besides him being awesome…lol…ryan really did a amazing job portraying all his emotions here…he really nailed all his scenes…i loved his little “meltdown” in front of ellie…haha
poor morgan
…all he wanted to do was please everyone but it ended up biting him in the butt!…he just can’t catch a break…i’m glad morgan’s finally taking his life into his own hands (benihanna chef, really?!)…lol…at least he has some goal, right
got to give yvonne a shout-out…she did an amazing job in this episode…i really thought that i’ve seen her all emotions and expressions but she really proved me wrong
…she nailed every emotion down in this one…i loved her “two beds” scene…it was so sweet and girlfriend-like…can’t wait for more yvonne goodness next week ^_^
one more thing: anybody else get a little teary-eyed with the hand holding in the courtyard?…well, i did…it was so romantic and sweet…aww <3

Just was at the NBC site for Chuck (link below)
http://www.nbc.com/Chuck/
Its says “Season Finale”
One can only hope! It sure sounds better that series finale!
We all live in hope that NBC makes the right choice and soon!

reen426:
My wife and I watch a lot of the season one episodes to pass the time during the week, and it seems that being teary-eyed is part of being a Charah fan (although I will never admit to that of course). This episode was definitely one of them…
We watched the early morning hotel scene about a hundred times on youtube.
