Yvonne and Beefcakes
So this is the episode everyone’s been anticipating since NYCC. Does Sarah fall in love with an MI6 agent, and who exactly walks in while she’s in her underwear?
Well now we know the answers and they aren’t pretty. Time to talk about Chuck Episode 2.15 – Chuck Versus the Beefcake.
“Big Mike’s boning Bolognia?”
Let’s start with the Buy More plot this week. It was downright boring. Not even remotely funny in my opinion. I really wish they could have done more with it.
They had gorgeous women, afterall. Couldn’t they come up with something other than Jeff in a bathrobe?
I was disappointed we didn’t get more follow-up the Big Mike/Bolognia romance. That subplot is comedy gold, and I wanted to see more Patricia Rae!
“The bearded buffoon sleeps au naturale.”
The Morgan/Awesome/Ellie plot was better. It didn’t really advance any plot points, but Ryan McPartlin is just awesome at reacting to situations in hilarious ways.
I guess it was also necessary to make everything work out. Ellie pushing Chuck to break up with Sarah gives Chuck a reason to push Sarah away without us blaming him. A necessary plot development, I suppose.
“I’m not into nice guys.”
It’s going to pain some of you to hear me say this, but I actually like Cole. He’s smooth, cool, and the perfect antithesis to Chuck. He’s like the show’s version of James Bond.
Given that Chuck just kicked her to the curb, it’s easy to understand how Sarah could fall for him. He’s the kind of guy Chuck can never be.
You and I know that that’s exactly why they can’t end up together, but if you get into the characters’ head, it really does make a lot of sense. I love that Sarah was enamored.
“This is pre-torture?”
The fulcrum plot was pretty interesting but obviously designed to put together this love triangle with Cole, Chuck and Sarah.
I particularly enjoyed the torture scene which I felt was the closest Chuck and Cole will get to ‘fighting’ over Sarah. Chuck wants to be what Cole is, and it looks like we’ll see the culmination of that in next week’s episode.
I only hope that they all come to realize that Sarah doesn’t want Cole, and she certainly doesn’t want Chuck to be Cole. But I think her getting with Cole is a necessary evil for her character development.
“Seeing something you like down there, Bartowski?”
Baldwin was without effect this episode for the most part. That’s a shame, because I do so love me some Casey. He had his usual one-liners, but nothing overly spectacular.
I know Casey and Chuck have an antagonistic relationship, but I feel like some of his comments about Sarah and Cole getting it on were low even by his standards. Casey must have some love for Chuck by now, right?
“Believe Me — Sarah’s the one.”
And the truest words of the episode were of course uttered by Morgan; the wise little bearded sage troll man-boy. Way to go, J-Go!
I really like the direction they’ve gone with ‘Charah’. It makes sense for the characters, and it hurts a little but I don’t think any of us are under the illusion that it won’t come full circle.
It should be interesting to see how the living arrangements work out with Sarah and Chuck living together. I really think they should add Morgan as their roommate for extra comedy gold. Then they’d have to sleep in the same room.
What do you think? Was this episode as heartbreaking as you feared?
Screen caps should be up tomorrow; until then let’s talk it out!

Oh man I hate Cole so much!! (Sorry Lykaon) But in the promo when Sarah said “When you really care for someone you find it hard to separate yourself from them.” (Or something like that) I sort of got the impression that maybe just maybe she was talking about Chuck? Just a guess.
March 2nd, 2009 at 9:26 pm
No, not at all. I loved it actually. Cole was awesome! I got at least one reference. Sarah was cool. Casey was funny. The only downer was Chuck is still an idiot.
March 2nd, 2009 at 9:30 pm
i way want to see Morgan move in with Chuck and Sarah. That would be like you said comedy gold. But i thought this episode was pretty good. I actually laughed a good bit at this one. I myself like Cole as well he is a good a good change to the show. Cant wait for next week though. Its going to be a good one.
March 2nd, 2009 at 9:35 pm
oh God!!i coudnt agree more to you lykon…really,,sarah and cole clicked together…i like their chemistry..sure i want chuck and sarah together but sarah needs spice and cole didnt just give her spice,he gave her more than that i supposed…this is one of the best plot for sarah though im kinda worried too…i mean Jill is coming back right??hmmf!!i really hate her..and it bothers me that there will be less than 10 episodes till season ends…im gonna die waiting for the third season..huhuhuhuhu
March 2nd, 2009 at 9:50 pm
Barry, interesting idea… Morgan, Chuck, and Sarah all living together would be pretty funny.
But this episode, in my opinion, was kind of weak. Sarah having a new love interest as soon as she breaks up with Chuck? Come on. That’s cliche. I thought the show was avoiding cliche in terms of the Chuck/Sarah relationship. And Cole is a bit cliche and stereotypical himself. Seriously, between Bond and Cole, now I’m gonna think all MI6 agents are ladies’ men.
So. Chuck and Sarah are moving in together for their own protection. But that kind of leaves Morgan out of luck. Remember his dilemma? What’s he going to do now? Also, about Chuck moving in with Sarah… remember that rumor about the season finale including a marriage? Well, guess what I’m thinking.
Also, Lykaon, I’m impressed by your speed. Not an hour after the episode ended, already you’ve posted about it. Well done, and I admire your devotion.

I like Cole’s character, he’s a straight up spy. Yvonne was awesome here but, and it’s a big but, the way it was written I just don’t see Chuck and Sarah coming back from this. He’s already got a major inferiority complex about Bryce. Now here’s Cole, the first real spy to come along since then and the first guy she’s showing obvious interest in. From Chuck’s perspective it’s just another kick in the crotch.
I think the way the writers have presented this it’s safe to say that Sarah wants Chuck, she thinks he’s sweet and funny, she even fatasizes about being a real girlfriend to him, but the sad fact is she’s made up her mind that she can’t have Chuck – ever. Now enter Cole, a man she can have and who’s shown obvious interest in her – tell me again how this is good for CHARAH? It isn’t. The writers are getting too cute, leaving their angst monkeys along in a room full of typewriters so they can bang out a script each week. They need to decide pretty damn quick if CHARAH is going to live or die, because I love Yvonne and I love the show, but as a CHARAH shipper it’s getting harder and harder to watch each episode knowing that they’re just going to keep pissing on the dream.
A worth effort overall, Yvonne was awesome as always though I think the end scene was really weak.
I give it a solid C/C+, not the best but better than the competition. The question I have, is can they redeem themselves next week?
March 2nd, 2009 at 11:19 pm
lykaon, is this the first time you wrote a review without using sarah as a pic?…;)…great review as always…darn MI-6 dude!…love to hate him but god does he have to be that hardcore…and what was up with casey?…one minute he’s kicking chuck where it hurts, then the next he’s encouraging him to fight for sarah @_@
March 2nd, 2009 at 11:52 pm
ouch, just ouch. yeah, it was very painful to watch. i am a die hard charah fan and everytime a third party comes in between them my heart just breaks. i so love them together! but of course, we all have to endure these trials. i just hope the writers will do something to bounce back from this downer.
however…
props to yvonne and the rest of the cast for acting their hearts out.
March 3rd, 2009 at 12:01 am
I couldn’t stand MI-6 boy. I mean I feel for Chuck with Cole showing up all of a sudden. But I agree with Robert, I honestly can’t see the Sarah and Chuck relationship come back from this. Yvonne was awesome but seeing Cole kiss Sarah like that really left a bad taste in my mouth. I wonder if the move in will change anything. So does that mean that Sarah, Chuck and Morgan are going to live together? But yeah, I still can’t stand Cole!!!
March 3rd, 2009 at 12:05 am
I am with you Robert! This episode sucked for Charah imo. I am getting tired of Chuck being upstaged again and again by other guys especially right after Charah break up. It is not cool and I don’t even like watching this kind of episode, even if Yvonne is in her underwear. Could have done without this one.
March 3rd, 2009 at 12:25 am
I went to wonder con yesterday! it was absolutely amazing i was in the very front row. yvonne was quite but very gracious and witty. when i went up and asked a question specifically for her she was very delighted to answer. but schwartz said this season will include more than one wedding, so…
March 3rd, 2009 at 12:26 am
I like Cole. Cole should stay so that it would make Chuck mature a bit more when it comes to him handling his jealousy like a 12yrs old. Spying? Uh, Sarah gave you room to breathe when Jill was around….
March 3rd, 2009 at 12:35 am
Overall I thought the show was pretty good. I didn’t really care for the “casting couch” stuff. Yeah, Chuck broke up with Sarah (again). But it didn’t take him long to realize he messed up. Cole’s arrival just drove that home. Sarah gets tempted, but think of her during the Lou and Jill episodes. What’s a lady to do when she is told she is a “breathtakingly beautiful woman”? I don’t know how the moving in together will work out, but I think ole Chuck will be OK, if he don’t get killed trying to handle a gun. He didn’t know how to use one in Weinerlicious. (guess I don’t know how to spell that)
Anyway gang that’s my take. I really enjoy reading everyones comments.

As a female fan, I love Cole’s character. He’s charming and most important, he’s manly!!!
March 3rd, 2009 at 1:19 am
Oh, I forgot to say that I’m happy to see Eye Candy for Women. It’s been a while since Bryce left. The Morgan nude scene doesn’t count.
March 3rd, 2009 at 1:58 am
Oh grow up kids, and quit whining about “angst.” Somebody’s been reading too many Twilight novels lately.
The episode was one of those you hate now but will love in a few months when the finale resolves what has been set in motion here. You can’t expect the happy sunny breakfast scene from Chuck v. the Suburbs to happen, at least not without some major speed bumps in the way. Chuck needs to grow up. Seriously, his constant whining and cowering was starting to get on my nerves and make him kind of stale. Yes, we get that he is nerdy and sensitive and not at all cut out for spy duty. A good show, with good writers, like those on the Chuck staff, never lets characters stay one dimensional for long. Even minor characters get minor tweaks – think of Gen. Beckman’s reaction to Roan and her evening plans with Condoleeza. Think of Bryce showing genuine feelings for Sarah last we saw him. Think of the episode prior, where we got a new look at Anna. This is how you make good drama. You’re not supposed to like the story 100% of the time like a fairy tale. You’re supposed to digest it and see everything for what it is, get fully engrossed, get affected by it. Bravo to the Chuck writers, especially for Cole. Would have preferred him to be SAS rather than MI6 (to avoid the inevitable Bond parallels), but as Lykaon said, he’s too darn likable. He’s brave, but not condescending about it. He’s smooth, but almost in a dorky way, like how he tried way too hard in putting the moves on Sarah in the Castle. He’s dedicated to his job and service, but doesn’t ignore the human element, and is respectful of Chuck, practically asking his permission to pursue Sarah.
My conjecture as to the point of Cole’s character: Cole was a Chuck in a past life. Before all the spy stuff. It shows us what Chuck will be like if he continues down the path of exchanging his innocence for spy savvy. And I think Sarah will see this, and be repulsed, in a way, by Cole for fear of what will happen to Chuck. She won’t want Chuck to lose what makes him more human than the rest of them because she does care deeply for him, if not in a romantic way at this very moment. Sarah has shown signs of wanting to break out of the chaotic spy lifestyle, particularly in v. the Suburbs, and settle down, and the juxtaposition of Cole and Chuck will push Sarah into having to choose one over the other. Of course she can’t just stop being a spy or we have no more show, so either they find a creative way for her to pick Chuck, or unfortunately enough she has to pick Cole. Hopefully this isn’t the second marriage, but it would ensure a multitude of story arcs for Season Three and beyond, to play out the whole Chuck/Sarah/Cole thing.
Also, and I hate when people do this, but I just noticed something that points to my prediction of Cole being the Ghost of Chuck Future: their names are curiously similar Chuck Bartowski; Cole Barker. Initials are CB, first name is monosyllabic, last name starts with ‘Bar’. Considering all of the possible names they could have given the new addition to the Chuckiverse (not to be confused with Buymoria), it’s too close for me not to assume that there is intention there by the writers. I can’t wait to see how they bring this season home.
March 3rd, 2009 at 2:51 am
@Nadine. *gasp* but there have been some eye candy for the ladies, in the form of Captain Awesome. Last week? But heck yea, that was extreme eye candy for both guys and gal in one scene.
Quibble though: Why did Sarah has to try and grab her purse? She obviously can kick Cole’s asses even with her hands tied. lol
March 3rd, 2009 at 4:01 am
Hey TDL1234 nice stuff mate. You’ve clearly thought about this episode with depth and got some good ideas plus the length of the post speaks volumes. The whole Morgan Chuck Sarah thing sounds crack up and I have to agree that Cole aint the worst. Personally I think he’s better then Bryce as he’s less of a Cool Kat, bit more down to earth. As for the whole Cole idea I have to agree with Mike that it’s a bit steriotypical and cliche plus we’ve had this same type of scenario before so really there’s not a lota new stuff to sink our teeth into. I’d say about a c+ too, I’m just !DYING! to see what happens with Charah in the next episode. Moving in is a step towards what we’ve all been wanting, I just need to see how serious it will really be and how much it’ll be involved in the next episode. Gonna have to wait and see! Plus Yvonne :p have to agree with Cole’s comment that she’s “a breathtakingly beautiful woman!!”
March 3rd, 2009 at 4:25 am
This episode was painful to watch, but that’s not to say that it wasn’t great! It hurt me (probably just as much as it did Chuck) to see Sarah and Cole kiss at the end there, but I agree with TDL1234. It will all come together by season’s end. We all know that Chara will face much adversity throughout the series: adversity that any couple faces, on top of the unique adversity that a super spy and super asset couple faces. Oh man, Chuck and Sarah moving in together? That should be interesting. I hope the writers kick up the helpings of Chara moments as the season winds down. Let me end by saying that the pleasure of this show, for me, is worth the pain of this episode.
March 3rd, 2009 at 6:26 am
ARGH dammit this episode made me cringe every time I felt that Cole was getting remotely closer to sarah. lol. However, I hate to admit it but as a girl, I find Cole tremendously charming, and he does remind me of Clive Owen.. incredibly smooth and sexy. The ending was kinda.. >.<.. too.. cos I felt that even though it was great news that they were moving in together.. it was forced at the same time cos I don’t know if either Sarah or Chuck really had their heart in it or if they were just following orders. Gah. Last week this show pieced my heart togther and this week its tearing it down again. rahhh… hopefully next week I’ll be able to scoop back the scraps of my heart together only for it to be torn down again. -.-”
lol
But like PM27 said.. the pleasure of this show is worth the pain of this episode.
OHyeah.
And just my opinion but i did feel CHuck was seriously wayyyyy too whiny in this episode.. I know he’s supposed to be a geek and all but the writers could really make him a tad more manly.
March 3rd, 2009 at 9:15 am
I think Chuck is making me depressed more and more, especially when seeing relationship of Chuck and Sarah goes unpleasantly…
I’ve been depressed for the last 3 episodes…
please don’t end the season with this mood…
please let us see some development of their relationship….
March 3rd, 2009 at 10:06 am
cole will be just a pawn to prove that chuck is the one sarah is in love with. although, cole’s james bond charms is quite tempting, still, sarah’s heart belongs to chuck. it’s painful, since our favorite agent is in a dilemma: love or country, right?
well, i think i like bryce better…
March 3rd, 2009 at 10:20 am
Am I the only one who thought there was nothing to the Sarah – Cole thing??? Remember, he basically grabbed her to plant the kiss at the end, she wasn’t really pining for it. There was definite tension there but she is clearly more interested in protecting Chuck than anything else. With all the people who come in and out of her store, granted we never see it, you think she has never met a handsome man who she might want to date? How about that for a plot line, Sarah meets a normal guy similar to Chuck, maybe a new employee or one from Large Mart and decides to date him. Talk about jealousy. I definitely agree that the promo of her talking to Cole was her final rejection of him, lets not forget she basically turned him down twice in this episode. Living together will bring Chuck and Sarah together and this will lay the foundation for the new female agent and the reassignment in episode 2.18. Don’t worry folks, this one will end well, it always ends well on TV!!! Lets just hope for a season 3 to continue this viewer tension we all love so much.
March 3rd, 2009 at 10:45 am
@reen
Yah i think this is the first time I’ve done a review without using a picture of Yvonne. Might be the only time…
March 3rd, 2009 at 11:10 am
@grace: “but schwartz said this season will include more than one wedding, so…”
Looks like Big Mike is getting married.
March 3rd, 2009 at 11:19 am
I think it’s set up for Chuckie-boy to find himself a new girl. There will be a ton of juicy stories with Chuck trying to date another woman whilst living with Sarah.
March 3rd, 2009 at 12:31 pm
@bzzg, yeah, I almost forgot about Captain Awesome as eye candy. He has a nice body, good job, awesome parents, take care of his woman… He’s a perfect husband candidate. Yet men from the spy world like Bryce, Beefcake offers more excitement.
March 3rd, 2009 at 12:41 pm
Have to agree with Lyakon about Cole, Chuck deserves it. Plus she does have a history of falling rather quickly.
March 3rd, 2009 at 12:48 pm
TDL1234: Extremely well put mate.
March 3rd, 2009 at 12:49 pm
TDL1234: SAS arent spies. Surely you knew that?
March 3rd, 2009 at 4:35 pm
I kind of think that Sarah will eventually take off with Cole to some exotic location, Chuck will have already matured and grow a pair by then, but it will be too late. Then I of course Sarah will return for a finale and everything will be “awesome” between the two, and the drama in between will keep all of us in suspense. Oh yeah, and this episode was good too.
March 3rd, 2009 at 5:35 pm
WOW! 31 responces. That’s the most I have ever seen. The episode was ok. I think what’s happening is nessicary like you said. But about Casey I think he was trying to support Chuck. He’s not a people person that we know. So it may sound weird or mean what he’s saying but actually I think he really is trying to help Chuck. Like there will be more fish in the sea? Sad line but he really was trying. As far as Sarah, Chuck and morgan rooming together I don’t know. But I have a feeling they will be sleeping together due to that clip we all saw at the con.
March 3rd, 2009 at 5:54 pm
40 comments on last week’s episode. I think that was a record for the site.
March 3rd, 2009 at 7:13 pm
I hate Cole. From what I saw, he’s just trying to get Sarah in bed with him. She deserves way more than that
March 3rd, 2009 at 8:29 pm
Looking back, while I am mixed on the Sarah/Cole relationship, I liked the Cole/Chuck one. He might be the first spy-type character that didn’t denegrate Chuck for being a civilian in their spy world. He seemed to respect Chuck in his own way (he didn’t make too many comments on Chuck’s torture threshold), which was further highlighted by how poorly Casey treated him in this particular episode.
I can see Cole providing the spy-mentor-friend that Chuck has never had. Casey has been too critical of Chuck to provide any really practical information (other than to stay in the car), and I don’t think Chuck will ever develop enough trust in Bryce to want to emulate him.
Cole can teach Chuck that little extra swagger that will eventually make him irresistable to Sarah…
March 5th, 2009 at 7:05 am
records are meant to be broken…with episodes like this one, getting to 40 is just the beginning…
Well I don’t have much to comment on…feel sorry for chuck…I’ll reserve my comments for the next episode…
new and revamped strahotski.com is really cool. Congratulations to Lykaon and all those associated with this wonderful site.
Thank you guys

Hey Guys, my weekly report…
After watching the last episode it somehow cleared things up for me, I gained a new perspective for the whole series(at least from episode three of this season, “Chuck Vs.the Break up”, and onward).
I have reached the conclusion that the basis of the problems between Chuck and sara(apart from the writers tendency to use what was so fondly called “angst Monkeys”)lies in the fact that Chuck is obviously drawn to Sarah (he would have to be dad or gay, or possibly both, to do otherwise)both physically and mentally as well as emotionally and that is wholly understood. However the opposite is not quite as simple and I’ll explain; After seeing all the episodes more than 3-6 times each, my inevitable conclusion is that Sarah may have feelings for chuck(probably), she obviously like him and is wary of his life much more beyond his prospect of being the intersect, but and it’s a big but, She is not attracted to him !!! at least not in the usual way people are attracted to each other, and I’m not talking physical attraction only(allthough it’s the gist), but general appeal alltogether.
We have seen her caring for him, feeling sorry and pain for him and even hint of a romantic feelings. however all those are not backed up by physical attributes that will completely finish the job.
we have seen that each time a handsome(of some measure) competitor appears in the scene Sarah’s own emotions are being sent into torbulent streams, which is something that doesn’t usually happens when you’re sure of your love.
this is part one of two
I’ll continue the theory later on tonight, but feel free to express your oppinions regarding my post even right now.
See you guys later
Alex
March 5th, 2009 at 12:08 pm
I thought the Cole-Sarah bit was too forced. From his pickup lines to her reactions, they just didn’t come off as natural. The non-relationship portions I could buy, but when they were interacting at a relationship-level I just didn’t believe it.
Tin foil hat comment: What’s to keep Cole from being both MI6 and Fulcrum? We don’t know if Fulcrum has invaded other intelligence organizations.
Anyway, IMO I think Morgan should move in with Ellie & Awesome. If for no other reason than to make sure Ellie & Awesome stay as regulars. If they lose a constant connection to either Buy More or Chuck, I fear their screen time will diminish to near nothing. And Chuck’s going in so many directions nowadays that he has little time for his sister. Also, it’d be more pain for Morgan to have his former infatuation in the same apartment, especially when Anna comes over for some quality time.
As to the models & Jeffster, I think a bikini photo shoot would have been way better from both an eye candy and plot standpoint. And Jeffster would get the ladies to agree by telling them they’d be spokesmodels for Buy More.
March 5th, 2009 at 5:14 pm
@alexg
I can see what you’re getting at, and that is certainly backed up in a number of ways, not the least of which is that Sarah has had a number of opportunities to discuss Chuck’s good points, his animal magnetism is never one of them. She definitely has an affinity for him but maybe not an outright attraction…? Like she wants to like him and keeps hoping to see something in him that will tip the scales.
Maybe in a future field op, Chuck will have to adopt a personae that she is drawn to…
March 5th, 2009 at 8:31 pm
Hey guys
to Shine, I am glad that you see my point, however you narrowed it down to animal magnetism ; a trait he would never acquire, being a born with or without issue.
Also I would like to mention that Physical attributes is not the only issue here(as I mentioned earlier in the first part of my post)but rather a tier of general sex appeal [albeit the most important one].
As to the future (and the present also, I guess…) I really can’t say weather she has any plans for him to ‘grow’(as it is) in a way she will find more suiting, I
tend to think that it is going against said statements and allusions which clearly declares she doesn’t want him to get ‘rotten’ and to grow the necessary ’skin’ needed do deal with death and deceit and all that comes
as inseparable part of espionage life, on the contrary
she likes him just for not being like all of them.
However(sorry for the insufferable over usage of this word, which will continue, cause I like it),Chuck’s own uniqueness isn’t a strong enough catalyst of affection for her to drain out pure and simple attraction.
I don’t think chuck will likely to adopt any personality other than its own(he may upgrade his…)
since it won’t be realistic neither for the show nor for Sarah who knows the real Mccoy .
one last point of my answer to you Shine is the part regarding Cole (nice character to be sure) instructing
Chuck on smoothing out his ways, spy wise and lady killing(as a side dish) alike. to this I have to say :
“one does not turn into bond(give or take Daniel Craig)
you either got it or you don’t”.
you all are welcome to reply.
Part two coming later tonight, maybe tomorrow
Alex
March 5th, 2009 at 9:59 pm
to TDL1234, you wrote a very nice piece with pretty big highlights that marked your paragraph.
I would like to point out some elements of it:
1.obviously the tension now is building in order to augment that which will be resolved in the finale, it is still interesting to observe the events in motion.
2.Concerning Chuck’s whining, I can’t agree more .
Sometimes I found myself shouting to him “c’mon Man up…”
I guess an upgrade of him will set in motion for the last episodes of this season if not the next one.
This will be a mark of good scripting.
regarding other examples of writers changes and growth
I would like to comment that Bryce’s motives for separating chuck and sarah weren’t that clear, and for
my money I’m not sure that he didn’t do it for his own
selfish interests, meaning his feelings for sarah.
Which BTW weren’t fake the last time around also, I think he always had it for her, he just had to give it up for the job.
as for other characters like the general and anna, I think you are right.
Exactly as you said, good drama deals with seeing everything as it is, and this is exactly what I did with my post concerning the basis of their problems.
while “chuck” is not a drama series per say, it does by no means neglects dramatic moments and elements and woven into most comic Gags are pieces of good drama that gives substance to the action laden sequences.
Interesting take about Cole as an upgraded British field kit of Chuck, We’ll just have to wait and see this one; BTW SAS are British commando paratroopers(of sort),they don’t do espionage .
he may be SIS(secret intelligence service) which is kind of an uber-branch of the British Intelligence that
MI6 is a part of.
the initials section is also a good observation of yours, I ascribe it to writers penchant rather than actual plot line, but hey I could be wrong.
good post
replies are welcome

After going over the last episode again tonight, I realized we have all missed. Chuck hacked in to the Fulcrum chip and saw what was on it. He distroyed it so we probably won’t know any more than we saw, but when he told Sarah he saw what was on the chip, during the torture scene, nothing else was said of him being able to do that. So he didn’t need the decoding device, or wharever it was. Seems like one of the cast could have considered that an accomplishment, instead of just Casey thinking he was an idiot again. If they would have given him a chance to hack into the chip, maybe all the torture stuff could have been prevented. Whoops, that would have REALLY changed the story huh. But he did a pretty amazing thing. At least I thought so.
March 7th, 2009 at 4:55 pm
This season has been filmed already, but we all need to email the producers of the show for next season and ask for a couple of changes (if it doesn’t happen in the next few episodes)…first Chuck needs to become a better spy. I am tired of him screwing up in every episode, going all the way back to last season. He needs to get a grip. ANYBODY is going to get better at their job eventually. Second, Chuck and Sarah need to get it on at least one time or else they really have no relationship to speak of. They can consumate the relationship and then slip back into uncertainty if that suits the plot, but they need to consumate the relationship or there simply is no relationship to speak of.
Some background on Cole: He played a British spy in a show called “the thin blue line” which is a super funny Rowan Atkinson comedy series available on DVD. It was during season two, and Cole hit on Rowan’s girlfriend during the show and was the super stud spy.
I like Cole a lot and think he is doing everything right, which unfortunately for Chuck (and us) is getting the hot girl. But he has been respectful to Chuck and he reads Sarah well and can tell how to push her buttons.
And think about Sarah, she was dumped by Chuck twice now and knows that he has no problem messing around with whatever girl comes along while she busts her butt protecting him. Furthermore he doesn’t have the courage to consumate the relationship with her. It is clear that Sarah’s sense of duty keeps her from making a move on him and it is up to Chuck to show more interest than just talking, by planting a kiss on her like Cole did. He even shys away from fake kissing her when she asks for a “cover story” kiss. So what she sees in Cole is much less complicated than her situation with Chuck. And again Cole has no problems making all the right moves and pushing her buttons, while Chuck basically whines about their relationship but never just goes for it.
I am glad I found this blog because I looked for a while for anything Chuck related on the internet.
