Episode 2.18 Captures

I’ve added a 60 new screen captures to the gallery for Episode 2.18 – Chuck Versus the Broken Heart.

I thought for sure that this episode wouldn’t yield many screen captures.  With Sarah replaced by Forrest and not as close to Chuck for most of the episode, surely there couldn’t be much right?

So wrong.  Yvonne Strahovski did some amazing emoting in this episode, as she so often does.  Not only that, but we also got a return of the ‘Chuck’ smile!  That one special smile that she only flashes for Chuck.  So awesome.

Be sure to also check out the music page for this episode to find links to the awesome soundtrack to The Broken Heart.

Enjoy and don’t forget you can comment on and rate the pictures as you go now!

Strahovski and Broken Hearts

They say Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned, and I’m expecting we’ll see a seriously scorned Sarah as she fights to get her job back (and Chuck).

I certainly wouldn’t want to be on Sarah’s bad side; nor Yvonne Strahovski’s for that matter.

It’s time to review Episode 2.18 – Chuck Versus the  Broken Heart.

“Time to flush out your system, dude!”

Wow.  This episode was painful.  And grand at the same time.  I don’t think I’ve hated a character as much as Agent Forrest ever.

I thought I hated Jill, but no.  Jill is a frickin’ nun compared to Forrest.  I know Casey was making googly eyes at her all episode, but Casey can do so much better than that chick.

I can’t believe Sarah settled for a shoulder bump!  Forrest deserved a Chuck Norris-style roundhouse to the face.  And she didn’t even back off at the end when Sarah basically saved her career!

This, of course, is not intended as an offense against Tricia Helfer.  The fact that I hate her so much is surely indicative of fine acting.

“Ooooh!  Astronomy snap!”

I really like when the Buy More plots are closely tied into the spy plots.  It makes the whole Chuck world much more seamless and reminds us that you can’t be a super secret spy without that making trouble on the homefront.

I was sad to see no Big Mike, relieved to see no Emmett, and pleasantly surprised at the way they managed to bring all of the worlds together.

It’s a little bit odd to get Casey in the mix because he’s thus far been removed, but he meshed pretty well and the scene at the beginning with the gun was classic.

Episode 2.17 Captures

I’ve added a 48 new screen captures to the gallery for Episode 2.17 – Chuck Versus the Predator.

This episode was so fast and furious that there weren’t the usual whimsical shots we’ve come to love; no time for fight scenes and undergarments.

Still, though, we got some really cute ones from Yvonne Strahovski.  I’m particularly partial to Burglar Yvonne, but some of the ‘mad’ Sarah pictures are great as well.  She was really frustrated during this episode.

Also — don’t forget to check out the music from this episode!  Though there wasn’t much, Rob has updated the page and added songs for Versus the Predator.

Strahovski and Predators

Two weeks is such a long time.  It feels like forever ago that we last met to discuss Chuck Versus the Lethal Weapon, doesn’t it?

Usually time flies, but when we’re waiting on a glimpse of Yvonne Strahovski it just seems to stand still!  There’s just not enough Yvonne in the world, is there?

Cole’s gone, Strahotski.com’s down with the music, and now we’re left with nothing but my modest review of Episode 2.17 – Chuck Versus the Predator.

“No more plumbing on future missions.”

Wow.  It’s a good thing the episode started on a lighter note, because our trio of spies didn’t get a whole lot of guffaws on this outing.  Even Chuck can’t afford to yuck it up in such trying times.

I don’t think I can write this review like I have the others because this episode was so different than recent episodes.  The stakes are higher, Chuck is playing for keeps, and not even Major John Casey can stand in his way.

“Sarah… You’re in the little boys room!”

The only humor we really get this episode is courtesy of the Buy More gang.  And in this episode, gang is definitely the most apt term to describe them.

We’ve heard about Jeff’s “office” before but I had no idea it was going to be that nice.  Where do the poor disabled people use the restroom!?

It was brief, but we also got to see the return of Morgan’s Mom for one of the funniest scenes in the episode.  I don’t know why they’re waiting so long to fully cash in on this plotline.  I love it.

Music from Chuck

strahovski-ep216-003.JPGWe often get emails from people asking what song they just heard in the most recent Chuck episode, and it comes up in the forums a lot as well. That’s why we’ve decided to add a Music from Chuck section to the site.

It has song listings for every episode that’s aired so far, and we’ll keep adding to it each week. Chuck has a LOT of music, so of course we may not have every song.

If you know of something we’ve missed, please let us know about it!

What makes the music in Chuck so great? Yvonne, Zach, Adam, and the rest of the cast are great actors, and their performances do more than enough to sell whatever is going on on-screen. But the show’s great music often adds that extra emotional punch or hilariousness that puts the scene over the top.

After all, it’s impossible to forget Jeff and Lester singing “Africa” in Chuck vs. The Best Friend, and of course “Do You Believe in Love” made the perfect backdrop to the infamous slow-motion scene in Chuck vs. The Seduction. There was that whole episode dedicated to Rush, too.

So whatever you’re favorite Chuck song is, enjoy! We put in little Amazon preview widgets with the songs whenever they were available, so you can listen to samples for most of the music.
