Strahovski and Exes

Just six episodes into Season 2 and we’re graced with a blast from Chuck’s past in Chuck Versus the Ex.

Though I’m sure we’re all a little bit hesitant to welcome any other loves into Chuck’s life, getting a look into Chuck’s past is a welcome romp.  And she’s a doctor!

strahovski-ep205-009.jpgI guess Jill’s done a little better than Chuck over the last few years.  Unfortunately for Jill, she’s nowhere nearly as hot as our girl Yvonne Strahovski.

But there is a silver lining to Jill’s return — we get to see how Sarah looks in green.  It suits her, as most colors do.   Nothing brings out the cute like a little jealousy.

And she finally got to use her natural accent for the show.  They need a whole episode where she gets to talk Australian.  She sounds so natural and cute when she does.

As much as I did like delving into the past, though, I felt that the chemistry between Jill and Chuck was a little flat.  Though we don’t wanna see it spark quite like it does with Yvonne, they didn’t really do a good job convincing me they actually used to date.

Furthermore, they sure got to the kissing and cuddling pretty quick.  I know old flames die hard, but this just all seemed a little quick… maybe I’m just feeling sorry for Sarah here, I don’t know.

Speaking of kissing, my wife sure got a kick out of the Casey/Chuck kissing scene.  I vomited a little in my mouth actually, but it was funny I have to admit.

I blame some of the odd pacing on the direction.  I noticed that this one wasn’t directed by Robbie McNeill like the last few episodes.  There was definitely a different feel to the direction.  Let’s hope it was just first-time jitters.

Still, the episode had its charms.  I did enjoy Awesome getting involved at the Buy More a little bit.  And although it was predictable, I laughed out loud when Morgan was caught with Ellie’s panties.  That’s a classic comedic device.

I liked the costumes in the restaurant, too.  So often they just throw them in tuxes and call them waiters.  It was a neat change of pace to see Casey with a soul patch.

It was also a relief to see that Chuck actually still works at the Buy More.  He seems to get more and more disconnected  with every episode.

I’ve got tomorrow off for Veteran’s Day, so screenshots should be up earlier than normal.  Until then, hang out in forums and compare Jill and Sarah.  You know you want to.
