Six Degrees of Yvonne Strahovski
Since NBC refuses to start re-airing Chuck for us to swoon over, we’re desperately in need of something to pass the time.
We need something to entertain us while making sure we get our Yvonne fix. We fill the void with wallpapers and discussion, but that’s never enough.
So Rob and I have come up with a new game –
Six Degrees of Yvonne Strahovski
Thanks to the University of Virginia, you can play the Kevin Bacon game with any actor (or actress) on the planet.
Being new to Hollywood, you’d think Yvonne would be pretty distantly connected to the movie industry, but UVA’s Oracle seems to disagree. She’s surprisingly well-connected for someone new to the scene.
Here are some base rules:
- It has to be an actor/actress people have heard of. A good rule of thumb is that IMDB should have a picture of the actor at a minimum.
- You have to use her real name - Yvonne Strzechowski. The Oracle doesn’t recognize her current stage name.
- Enter Yvonne’s name first, then the actor you want to connect to her. You can choose movies, TV, or both. We only used movies.
- It has to be the shortest path. You can’t intentionally skirt through 13 movies for the sake of it.
- Post your biggest numbers here and let’s see who can find the longest link to Yvonne!
It may sound silly, but it’s easy getting caught up in this. You can spend hours trying to think of actors that she may only be distantly connected to.
Right now you only have to get a number greater than 4 to be better than Rob and me. Good luck!

Of heroes fame: Tawny Cypress and Sendhil Ramamurthy each have an Yvonne number of 4. Zachary Quinto is currently an infinity - though, as he has no movie credits at the moment, he really doesn’t count.

That would be 6 degrees. This game is actually really easy if you don’t use the UV link. The problem with that is it basically finds the shortest route. I don’t think you’d ever find more than 4 to Yvonne using well-known American actors.

It’s not really in the spirit of the game to take the longest path you can find. Obviously, that’s possible. I’ll have to update the rules.

Yeah, that’s what I mean. I can almost guarantee you, that unless you find some completely unknown Australian actor, you’re not going to get more than 4 steps to Yvonne. Think of how few movies she’s done, then factor in that they’re all in Australia. If anyone finds, stated under the criteria, a pictured IMDB actor that this thing gives more than 4 steps to Yvonne, I will be truly impressed.

That’s why it’s a game! People have purportedly found Bacon Numbers of 7 (shortest path).
So surely there are shortest paths greater than 4 for Yvonne. Or maybe not. No doubt, the number of actors more than 4 are very very few indeed, but that’s the fun of it all.

Well it’s easy for Kevin Bacon. The guy’s been in a lot of movies, not to mention they’re movies in America. Yvonne’s been in like 5, all in Australia. Haha, I’d have to think it’s close, if not completely impossible.
