We’ve added 40 new screen captures to the gallery from “Chuck Versus the Sandworm.”
This was sadly an episode without much to work with. Yvonne was only in a few major scenes and most of those were all exposition.
Nonetheless, I’ve tried to get a few more variation in shots. She wasn’t in her Leia costume long, but I made sure to try to get as many good ones as I could.
Enjoy!

Apparently we aren’t the only ones who like to call Yvonne ‘Strahotski.’
Over at E! Online, columnist Kristin shares this quote from Zach Levi answering the question of what exactly Yvonne’s last name is:
It’s Yvonne Strahovski. But we’ve nicknamed her Yvonne Strahotski ’cause basically she’s that hot, and I think she deserves it!
So there you have it. Even Zach Levi thinks she’s hot, though he goes on to emphasize that there’s no romantic connection.
No, I love them both [Yvonne and Sarah Lancaster] like sisters. We just work together all day long together and have a blast. It’s fun.
But that can only be a good thing.

Another week gone and another Episode of Chuck behind us. This week was Episode 1.06 - “Chuck Versus the Sandworm.”
This was actually one of my favorite episodes of the season. Not only did we get to see Yvonne in a Princess Leia outfit, but we also got to see some awesome gadgets. Gadgets are fun.
This episode also gets marks for minimizing Ellie and maximizing Captain Awesome. That guy makes me want to start a fansite about him. But that would be weird, so…
Oh yes, you came here to read about Yvonne Strahovski didn’t you?
There was some good times for her in this episode. Anytime you can get any woman into a Princess Leia costume, you’re doing well. Make that person Yvonne Strahovski and you’re in geek heaven.
The only bad thing you can say is that the costume part was far too short.
Screen captures should be up soon for the episode.

Two new Wallpapers have gone up in the Wallpapers section. The wallpapers seem to be pretty popular, catapulting us to the top of the Google search results for “Yvonne Strahovski Wallpaper.”
Hopefully these two won’t disappoint. Straying from the original offerings here at Strahotski.com, both of these have a black background.
The bottom one is actually taken from screen captures of only Episode 1.05. I’m unsure as to whether I’ll make a wallpaper for each episode, but it’s a possibility. What do you think?
I’ve also tried to reduce the Strahotski.com branding a bit so it should be hiding behind your start bar when you use these new ones. I know how annoying obtrusive branding can be and we’d like to minimize it as much as possible while still protecting our work.
In addition, all wallpapers are now offered in two more sizes: 1280×1024 and 1024×768. Hopefully this covers everyone out there regardless of their monitor’s resolution. If you’ve got a resolution you’d like to request, let us know.

I’ve just added a new album in addtion to the Chuck Screen Captures album that we already have. The two new galleries are modest by comparison but will grow over time.
One is a section devoted to any promotional photos we can find of Ms. Strahovski and the other is one with pictures of any public appearances she may attend (such as awards shows, etc).
Special thanks to Hemisphire for finding and scanning in a great promo ad from Rolling Stone. The end result is an extremely high resolution photo of the ad.
Enjoy the new pics and if you know of any other sources for good photos of Yvonne, let us know!

Last night we migrated Strahotski.com over to a new hosting service which promises to be faster, stronger, and more reliable.
So now we’re your #1 Yvonne Strahovski Source with speed. Hopefully.
Everything looks to have gone pretty well but if you find any issues be sure to let us know via comments or our new ‘Contact Us’ form!

So when Yvonne Strahovski first hit my radar, I only found her listed as Yvonne Strzechowski. I didn’t pretend to know how to say it, and I certainly couldn’t remember how to spell it.
Then she was suddenly Yvonne Strahovski. Well that was a welcome change in terms of my own memory and ability to quickly spell her name.
But Google sure thinks that when I search for Strahovski what I really mean is Strahovsky. Now that’s clearly not what I mean, but I wonder why Google thinks that?
As difficult as Strzechowski was to pronounce and say, it was Yvonne’s birth name and I feel kind of bad that she felt the need to abandon it just to cater to people who were so xenophobic that they didn’t wanna bother learning how to spell it.
On the other hand, changing her name to the phonetic spelling of her Polish family name does make it easier for her to get her name out there and attract fans. Surely fans are a staple of any long acting career.
I’ve often wondered exactly how the process of changing one’s name for acting goes down. Are actors advised to change their names or do they decide to do so on their own?
Did NBC strongly recommend it for their own ratings, or did Ms. Strahovski decide to do it for the good of her career?
I guess we may never know.

We’ve added 40 new screen captures to the gallery from “Chuck Versus the Sizzling Shrimp.” This first shot here may be my favorite of our entire gallery so far.
This time I’ve tried something a little different than before. Instead of editing Yvonne out of every picture such that no one else was in the shot, I’ve left everyone in tact this time. That means every image in this gallery is the same size.
Also, I’ve used a different source video this time. This time the source is in HD so the pictures should be a little bit clearer in full size. The end result is hopefully better shots of Yvonne!
What do you think? Do you prefer the new 1.05 screen captures or would you rather me go back to cutting Ms. Strahovski out of every shot?

On my personal blog over at Lykaon’s Lair, I have a habit of reviewing the tv shows I watch every week. But since it makes sense, I’m going to start writing my Chuck reviews here on Strahotski.com so that all of you Yvonne Strahovski fans can more easily find them.
Last night we were graced with “Episode 1.05 - Chuck Versus the Sizzling Shrimp. ”
As with any ensemble cast, every episode has a spotlight character and this week was mainly about Chuck and his relationship with his sister and troll of a friend.
Unfortunately, that means not as much Yvonne as last week but that doesn’t mean the episode wasn’t worth watching.
It turns out that there’s a Chinese spy working at Chuck and Morgan’s favorite Chinese restaurant and that gets Casey and Sarah in a tizzy.
We come to find out that although she is an International spy, she’s not in America on official business. Instead, she’s here to rescue her brother. Hijinks ensue.
Overall, this was a pretty good episode. There were some good gunfights and some funny moments.
I’ve said this in my previous reviews and I’ll say it again — Chuck’s sister simply isn’t the best actress on the planet. After taking screenshots of the first 4 episodes I at least came to appreciate that she’s pretty, though.
All in all, the ‘Sizzling Shrimp’ was a welcome foray into the season even if it was Strahovski light. Screen captures should be up shortly.

Lykaon and I are totally amazed by the massive response we’ve seen to the launch of Strahotski.com. We’ve been up for less than a week and we’re already outgrowing our britches! It’s not surprising, given the lack of good Yvonne Strahovski content that was available prior to our site.
Over the next few days and weeks we’re going to be rolling out a lot of new features, and cleaning things up as we go along. You might notice things moving around a bit as we make updates. We’ll also be moving to a faster and more powerful server, so page load times should improve.
We’ve got a few surprises in store, so make sure to stay tuned!
